So, there’s this guy on Reddit who bragged about reporting a 1% reward exploit to HDFC and SBI, and now it’s patched. Here’s the post: https://www.reddit.com/r/CreditCardsIndia/s/XTjMEuqmRP.Because of him, HDFC cardholders like us are losing ₹750 cashback every month. Seriously, was it necessary to ruin it for thousands of genuine users instead of just quietly benefiting? Exploiting systems might not be ideal, but was HDFC or SBI going bankrupt because of this? Absolutely not.
This kind of self-righteous behavior only harms cardholders while the banks, who already rake in billions, are barely affected. And the worst part? This guy didn’t stop at reporting it—he went online to brag about how he ruined a small perk for everyone. Talk about seeking validation at the expense of others.
Honestly, some people just don’t think about the consequences of their actions. What do you gain by snitching like this? A pat on the back from a corporation? Meanwhile, the rest of us, who genuinely rely on such benefits, are left paying the price for your so-called “good deed.”
