Key Highlights of the Guide:

📌 Excluded Banks: Public sector banks (except SBI & BOB)
📌 Excel File Includes 4 Sheets:
  • Sheet 1: Credit Card Database
  • Sheet 2: Quick Report (Filter-Based Search for Best Picks)
  • Sheet 3: Comprehensive Comparisons & Analysis (Best Cards by Category, LTF & RuPay Cards List)
  • Sheet 4: ROI & RR Calculators (HDFC & AMEX Cards)

Important Notes & Disclaimers:

✅ If the pre-selected cards don’t suit your needs, apply filters in Sheet 2 to find the best card based on your spending pattern and eligibility.
✅ This guide maintains a minimal number of cards while ensuring the best possible returns, making selection easier
Reward rates are based on the best possible redemption rates allowed by issuers, but exclusions apply.
✅ Some reward rates are calculated based on the most commonly used redemption options to ensure practical usability. Actual RR may slightly vary.
✅ Due to RBI guidelines, certain cards (e.g., Kotak, Scapia) are currently unavailable to customers.
Income eligibility details are not included. Visit the official website for exact criteria.
No referral or affiliate links are included—this guide is purely for awareness and Information purpose.
Official website links are provided for each card, including the latest revisions, if any.
✅ Partner brands, eligible categories, and reward structures may change over time—always verify before applying.
Check pincode availability with customer care before applying to avoid unnecessary credit inquiries.
Milestone benefits may expire if unredeemed within a specific timeframe—read issuer terms carefully.
Hidden charges & redemption fees—some issuers charge fees for redeeming points; check if it affects overall value.
Reward points expiry—certain cards have reward points that expire (e.g., 2-3 years). Opt for non-expiring points if needed.
Dynamic reward programs—banks like HDFC and Axis update their reward structures frequently. Stay updated.
Hidden exclusions—some categories (e.g., insurance, utilities, wallet loads) may not earn rewards, even if they appear eligible. Always check the fine print.

I did not include M4B in this sheet, and the card I included is Axis Magnus. I’ll try to include M4B in the sheet soon.

To be honest, I am not very interested in analyzing Axis credit cards as they are highly dynamic and unreliable. Of course, there are a few exceptions like M4B, Atlas, and Airtel, but they frequently change their terms.

Anyone using Axis Magnus is requested to verify the reward rate mentioned in my sheet and confirm if any corrections are required.

True but till the pain is worth the gain, which is an individual equation, people should explore that option, if available to them

Update: Exclusions & surcharge Info New
A new sheet has been added.
It contains all the excluded categories, such as rent, wallet loads, insurance, etc., along with their corresponding surcharges and maximum upper limits.

Though I tried my best to gather accurate information, some banks have not explicitly mentioned certain details anywhere. If you're using a particular card and notice any incorrect information, just DM me, and I'll correct the data accordingly.

'NA' refers to 'Not Available.' Some banks did not mention certain charges, fees, or related details in their fee & charges section or MITC, so I entered 'NA' to represent such cases.

Also Fuel surcharge info is added in main sheet (sheet 1)

thanks. this is awesome work 👍
Just curious - HSBC Premier has not limit on 3% reward on Utilities, Tax, Insurance.. so is this not the best card for same? Infinia has limit for 5000 RP. So for say 2lacs premium, this would fetch only 5000 RP pm. Whereas Premier CC would fetch 6k RP. and as no upper limit, if one has higher spend on these categories, the RP will be even more.
Or am i missing something ? I have applied for this card and would be great help if someone can clarify.

You are absolutely right! HSBC Premier is better if your spends exceed ₹1.5L in a month on these categories. However, considering the annual fees of HSBC and Infinia, as well as the better reward redemption rate on Infinia, HSBC Premier is a good choice only if you are an HSBC Premier banking customer.
Personally, I prefer the Amex Platinum Travel Card over all these. While Amex might not give MR points on these categories, the spends are counted towards milestones, which can provide an overall return of up to 12% or even higher if you are into travel.

My opinion:
  • If you are an HSBC Premier banking customer, go ahead and use the HSBC Premier Credit Card.
  • If not, use the Amex Platinum Travel Card until Amex removes these categories from milestone spends.
  • A third option would be HDFC Infinia or DCB Metal.
