I don't believe in this perception. It has been spread by those who are grown up watching Hollywood movies/shows only. The perception that tourists in Goa are forgetting Indian culture and adapting to modern culture is a complex topic influenced by various factors. Here are some points to consider:
It's essential to recognize that culture is dynamic and constantly evolving. The interaction between tourists and local culture can lead to the emergence of new cultural expressions and experiences. As such, the perceived shift towards modern culture in Goa may be a reflection of this dynamic process rather than a complete abandonment of Indian culture.
- Tourist Demographics: The type of tourists visiting Goa can impact this perception. Tourists from Western countries, for example, may have different cultural norms and preferences compared to Indian tourists, leading to a perceived shift in cultural practices.
- Tourist Activities: The activities that tourists engage in can shape their experience and perception of a destination. In Goa, activities such as beach parties, water sports, and nightlife may give the impression of a more modern and Westernized culture.
- Globalization: Globalization has led to the exchange of ideas, culture, and practices across borders. This can manifest in the adoption of certain modern aspects of culture by tourists, including fashion, music, and lifestyle choices.
- Tourism Infrastructure: The development of tourism infrastructure in Goa, such as hotels, restaurants, and entertainment venues, catering to international tourists, can create environments that reflect more modern and globalized trends.
- Economic Factors: The tourism industry in Goa plays a significant role in the local economy. As such, there may be a push to cater to the preferences of tourists, which can sometimes result in a blending of traditional and modern cultural elements.
- Perception vs. Reality: While there may be a perception that tourists are forgetting Indian culture, many tourists also appreciate and engage with aspects of Indian culture, such as cuisine, festivals, and local customs.
No. I respect your viewpoint. Rather than a movement for equal opportunity, feminism is now mostly all about bashing and belittling males. Was that sarcasm??

Hey Hi Mrunal we haven't met yet! I stalked your profile (please don't consider me a creep), do you run deltin?I agree... people in Goa embrace modern culture, overshadowing traditional Indian customs. Tho it brings diversity, it's important to remember and respect the rich heritage and traditions that make Goa uniquely vibrant. Balancing both can enhance the experience for everyone.
BTW, on a related topic, I have seen Deltin, went to Goa in March around, it's not worth it. Really, filled with Middle Class Uncles. No vibe, even the deck, I saw babies. BABIES! Just avoid. Go to Thailand, much better, I can recommend places if anyone is interested. 😉I agree... people in Goa embrace modern culture, overshadowing traditional Indian customs. Tho it brings diversity, it's important to remember and respect the traditions that make newest attraction in goa uniquely vibrant. Balancing both can enhance the experience for everyone.
