Hey folks,
I ordered a washing machine from LG's site around 13 Dec and there was a cashback offer on it, but because I was an idiot and didnt know about it, it was supposed to be an Instant Cashback offer, which I assumed was that the cashback would be credited right after transaction but instead it was supposed to be a discount on eligible cards on EMI/Full Payment.

Issue is, I didnt receive the cashback and raised the issue to LG's Customer care, where the executive said, that the offer is only valid on EMI transactions despite the offer on the live listing saying Full Payment too. Now there has been a lot of back and forth with LG on this issue but they are stonewalling my every attempt, they keep saying our billing team will solve this but its been 3 weeks with no update on it yet. They just keep sending these bullshit whatsapp message updates.

Is there anything I can do? I used a HDFC CC and as expected of an Indian Bank, they are ****ing useless in disputing the transaction, and because again I'm an idiot, I did not really push for cancelling the order because the executive said, they'll resolve it. Now the machine is delivered to my relative and they have started using it too, so am I screwed now?

I tried raising this with HDFC and they just say its an instant discount, nothing they can do

Which hdfc card you used while doing the transaction?

Was it core or cobranded?

Instant discount is from merchants site, you didn't mentioned the merchant, in case of instant discount whenever you enter your card number, the bin for that card is getting identified by merchant site and then they instantly removes that amount as instant discount, check your order Payment info and then you can ask that merchant to issue a refund of that much amount as there system was not able to identify your card

merchant in this case is LG, and thats exactly what i did once I saw that cashback has not been received, but those fuckers just keep saying we are looking into that

The cashbacks are deducted while doing the transaction, i don’t know whether you are availing instant discount for the first time, if the instant discount isn't deducted from the bill amount, you don't have to pay at that moment, you had to crosscheck with customer care why my card isn't eligible for instant discount, and only LG can give you the amount back

thats the thing, it mentioned cashback explicitly, if it was discount, I would have called up customer care, thats where I fucked up

Cashback = money that comes back post purchase into your account.

Discount = Instant discount that is applied on your purchase real time at the time of purchase.

Do you have screenshots/recordings of the offer while purchasing?
You can share those with the head of complaints or higher ups at LG or file a complaint at consumer court?
Dispute won't help much here because the product was delivered and LG has proof of that, also HDFC isn't that user friendly.

yeah, I have shared the screenshots with LG over email but still nothing, I have been trying to file a case in consumer court against LG, but their new E-Jagriti platform is beyond crap, ngl I am pretty tempted to pull my entire holdings out of HDFC but where do I go, all Indian banks are crap.

Anyways, I have attached the SS of the order here too,

Hey bro, I have tried inputting the same and found there are no instant discounts getting applied even on no cost emi, its totally a scam. Go on file a complaint to consumer forum.

Tried 6 cards got no discount on any card
