I had posted here few months back about how my credit score was dropped by 29 points suddenly without any causing activity (here's the thread). And its been like 8-9 months since I am continuously writing this to cibil but only to get a generic or stupid response every time. This time they have come up with something that again does not make sense but when I write back to them, its gonna be a months long wait.

Any one familiar with such things, please help me about what should I do.

Here is the recent response from CIBIL,

In the First report bearing ECN : XXXX-1 dated : September 30, 2022, Monthly Payment history for ICICI BANK account number ending with XXXX2248 was reported till September 2022. However, in the second report bearing ECN : XXXX-2 dated : December 11, 2022, ICICI BANK account number ending with XXXX2248 was still reported till September 2022 indicating lack of payment history for October and November 2022 at the time of accessing the score.
this card was closed on 04-09-2022 as per cibil report. why will there be a record for October and November. And even if there is no record how is that a negative point?

In the first report ECN : XXXX-1 dated : September 30, 2022 Monthly Payment history for JMFINCAP account number ending with XXXX0867 was reported till August 2022. However, in the second report bearing ECN : XXXX-2 dated : December 11, 2022, JMFINCAP account number ending with XXXX0867 was reported till September 2022 indicating lack of payment history for October and November 2022 at the time of accessing the score.

In the first report ECN : XXXX-1 dated : September 30, 2022 Monthly Payment history for JMFINCAP account number ending with XXXX2142 was reported till May 2022. However, in the second report bearing ECN : XXXX-2 dated : December 11, 2022, JMFINCAP account number ending with XXXX2142 was reported till October 2022 indicating lack of payment history for November 2022 at the time of accessing the score.
these 2 were overdraft accounts against securities which were never used. not even a single transaction. and were closed on 25-02-2023 as per cibil report.

In the first report ECN : XXXX-1 dated : September 30, 2022 Monthly Payment history for IDFC FIRST BANK account number ending with XXXX7163 was reported till August 2022. However, in the second report bearing ECN : XXXX-2 dated : December 11, 2022, IDFC FIRST BANK account number ending with XXXX7163 was reported till October 2022 indicating lack of payment history for November 2022 has also impacted your CIBIL score.
even this card was closed on 12-12-2022 as per cibil report. But again, if there was no payment history, what would it be negative thing for no fault of my own?

You can see there were no Credit Inquiries between oct-21 and mar-23
---queries between the time mentioned---
SBI 31-03-2023 HOUSING LOAN 40,00,000
ICICI BANK 16-10-2021 CREDIT CARD 1
JMFINANCIAL 07-10-2021 OTHER 1

PS: Just to put it in perspective, my cibil score is 763 while my experian is 842 and crif is 890. and there has been no negative change in experian / crif in last year.

Too much importance is given to the “score” aspect. Most banks now have their own algo and data points before making a credit decision, so while a score is indicator of your standing but it’s not ultimate.

Also, if an account is closed in September but has been reported till November unless there is negative data, there is no negative effect. Stop fretting.

Just a suggestion, you may as well ignore but save it will save you time and energy, Stop fretting over these trivial issues. Just to put things into perspective people with a score of 800+ can also get rejected for credit while people with a score of 740 might get it …

Also Cibil is just a like a register displaying information shared by banks. So if you want raise these disputes, raise it with the banks directly !

Exactly, I can't remember but my score was dropped from 812 to 780 without any mistake.
Some years ago (3 years) and never reached to same point but still growing now near 800,
Another good thing is now it is not dropping by Hard Enquiries 🙂
