Unable to apply add On card with Federal Bank Celesta credit card

Neo

TF Select
I have Federal Bank LTF Celesta Credit card. I am holding this card for the lounge benefit, as it is not linked any spend criteria. Other than this credit card, I don't have any other relationship with bank.

In last few weeks, Bank has been sending me several mails to apply for a add on card. The benefits (Lounge access) will also be shared with add on card holder. I found this offer interesting.

However when I am trying to applying for add on card, it is asking for CIF ( Customer ID) for add on card member. Looks like first you have to get CIF for the add on card member ( Like opening an account with fed bank ) then apply for a fed bank add on card with that CIF.

Is this the general process for fed bank add on cards? What are the options that I have? Thanks in advance for your help!

I have a question about Federal celesta add on credit card.

I have a federal celesta card but no federal Bank account.
My parents have a federal Bank account, but no credit card.

In federal Bank you can apply for add on card. But the add on card holder must have a bank account.

I am planning to apply for add on card for my dad. So I wanted to know one thing - will the add on card appear in his fednet account? Will it appear in his mobile banking?

Apply from your FedMobile and enter your parents Customer ID CIF. The addon will appear in your FedMobile and in your FedNetBank login.

not only federal, but even au, icici, hdfc.. where it asks the only "customer id" which u can obtain with opening new bank account, opening fd without bank account, credit card without bank account etc.

and u can apply same without customer id with a visit to branch, fill the form, submit kyc and its done.

- online: need customer id
- offline: no need customer id

its never about bank account but the number.

Thanks and thanks @helloworld

Since my parents already have bank account and they use debit card, they have some federal reward points balance. One way to use those points is to pay cc bill. But federal rewards is not allowing to pay other cards bills through their points. If the account holder has own credit card then only we can pay that card bill using those points.
This is one reason why I thought of taking an add on card for my dad. If that card appears in his name, I can use his points. (Unlikely but will try).

You can use those points for mobile recharge or DTH recharge

u can't use points through add-on. u still need to access their netbanking and pay usual like u do currently. it won't show this card as their card.

btw, there are multiple options apart from credit card bill. u can do recharge, other bills, vouchers etc.

Thanks. I was looking for this.

But all other options like bills and vouchers,

1. Federal charges 50 rs extra for some items. I think for some options, (mobile recharge and fastag) it is 10 rs.

2. I have also seen we can use only 70% of the total point balance. Rest had to be paid via card/other options. (Last time faced this when doing a jio recharge.)

Anyway I will explore and see. Thanks for the responses.

at the current moment

- federal
- icici
- idfc
- au
- sbi
- bob
- indusind
- sc

for instant discounts only, earning points very less and redemption involves redemption fee and some limits. choose whichever available without worrying much avout value because u already got required value with "instant discounts" , consider this just bonus.

IndusInd and SC don't have any instant discount offers anywhere 😞😢 and SBI takes back even chillar RPs given "by mistake" when instant discount applies.

They also take ₹100 for Federal Reward points redeemed as Federal credit card bill payment/cashback. I just checked. ₹100 extra charge is being added on the final page and the Federal lady is laughing at us for how we can't do anything about it Fee.webp

Oh OK. This is a great find. Thanks a lot.
So basically there is no use of taking the extra effort to get add-on card, or use points to pay bill.
We just need to use their points to do some mobile recharge or fastag balance reload where the extra convenience charges are minimum.
