Unwanted Charges Added

I have done one bill payment on 9th October 2024. The amount is ₹1290 but my electricity company not received and I raise complain on November 9th for check the payment is done or not. But they raise chargeback complain

I don’t want to raise complaint like that but axis bank raise chargeback. And they give me temporary credit on November 16th Date is not exact. Plus, they don’t inform me regrading temporary credit via SMS and E-mail and

November 28th Axis Bank Charged ₹253.7(Debit Adjustment Interest) and GST is ₹45.67 for Dispute Transaction. The interest is 19.65% for only 2 weeks.

November 29, 2024, I called him for regrading these charges they told me the charges is for giving for Temp credit. I told him I don’t want any temp credit and they transfer the call to upper department after 20min waiting they said we will reverse the charges. Finally, I am happy.

Please aware from complaining Dispute Transaction. They charges very high amount of interest without any inform you

You need to pay your dues in full even though they give you a temporary credit.
if you don't, they can charge you very high interest on your dues, if you lose the disputed transaction

are these charges even legal? I have worked as dispute resolution team(risk) head for a mnc but I handled only US/CA chargebacks and never have I ever seen a bank charging customer fees like these, even if the customer loses the chargeback still cx doesn't get charged fees(except the charge).

Welcome to the Axis Bank. It's possible if you are customer of Axis Bank.I have face bad experience from Axis Bank 😅😅. They erritete you when you face any problem

When you have disputed txn for which refund was awaited then you should have paid yourself like many telling here. If I do txn with CC and it doesn't settles due to intermediatery problem which is Airtel in your case, you should have paid CC amt firsthand and then waited for refund. We mostly follow this way only though I rarely face such issues like never. It has happened that my txns were successful yet somehow txn reversed and later debited but even that time also I paid my bill fully. So keep that in mind.

Just a general view:

People have bank accounts and they face strange problems every other day. I have bank account too since 1995 and using Internet Banking, DC online since 2003 and later CC but till date never faced issues like these. There are failed txn like 0.0012% of time but not like these. Why to blame bank when you have third party i.e Airtel invloved here.

One of my cousin is also like "no fault of mine" person and having Axis Bank acc. You will always find him calling Axis a thug or thief. At same time I have Axis acc. since 2010 but they have never charged me for anything unnecessararily. Whenever my cousin face such charges I go through his bank statement and then I always know he has fault of his. Once, he didn't kept balance and issued cheque and then blamed bank for not telling him his balance was not more than cheque amt and they charged cheque return charge which was fair. He also holds current account for his firm in Axis and do things without knowing its charges and when charged by bank cry like a child.

People think banks are there to do charity and every service they avail with a bank should be free or it is Bank's resposibility to tell them everything while the website bank maintains are there to be read by Buffaloes. 🙂

afaik They can be panelized for this. IDK abt RBI, people can chk if RBI allows charges for disputed trxns but VISA/MC afaik don't allow banks (atleast in the US/CA) any extra charges on disputed/chargeback trxns.

My all dues already clear and i am paying my payments timely, and sometimes i paid extra for these type of situation. And other thing is, if bank, partnership with other company then bank will be responsible not a other company, i think you don't have account in a HDFC, i have no complain for HDFC . Axis bank customer have real issues without any customer fault 😐

I have HDFC acc. too since Aug 2011. 🙂 Actually I have 12 savings acc. in different banks with 5 being in Small Finance banks.

You paid bill via Airtel for electricity and Airtel is the one that should fulfill it. Your bill didn't settled so the parties at fault are Airtel/Electricity department while the bank fulfilled its obligation by successfully allowing your txn to Airtel. In between if Electrcity department server had issues, Airtel can't reverse txn to your Axis card until they get response from biller which is Electricity Dept of your bill. Things don't work the way you think. Banks has given money on your behalf and now when next invloved party has problem, it is not bank's problem. Try to understand this simple thing.

It doesn't matter how well you paid in past or overpaying. It won't justify or give you an edge for a disputed txn which you raised from your end.
