Upgraded to DCB FYF from Regalia LTF! End Goal Infinia

I am really annoyed with this. They always ask for bank statement but we don't get salary credit in bank at same date for every month. Also, sometime the amount is very high and something is low. I am unable to get LE because of it in SBICARD
Ya agree. SBI Cards, IndusInd and IDFC are pathetic for LE. Axis too is bad but slightly better than these.

So I finally made the move to upgrade my Regalia LTF to DCB FYF. It's on the way.

But they didn't give LE. I'll meet the spend criteria if DCB acceptance is fine but I wonder what else I can do to qualify for Infinia (Other than ITR -- Not Salaried), floor limit is a major challenge unless they're soft with that criteria? Anyone aware?

Also, what are some other things I can do to maximize my chances for an upgrade in next few months?
Congratulations. Spend 6-8L during next 6 months and then try your luck for Infinia. But only relevant if your Credit Limit is >8L. Otherwise wait for LE and then beef up your expenditure on DCB.
Which HDFC CC can one get directly with Salary Slip or C2C? DCB?

Is the spend criteria mandatory? Also what is the spend criteria for DCB?

Yes at least that's what I've come to know through 2-3 different bank officials (RM/BM former and new both mentioned about this).

Thanks. That's where I've been stuck. I asked them to enhance limit on basis of spend history but they didn't (last year 20L+ done, last 6 months more than 5L done). Now this damn minimum limit criteria is the road blocker for me (sub 7L right now). Even if I meet the spend criteria, I won't get Infinia due to this issue.

My hope is that next 6 months I'll do the spending and try for an exception and see. If not then I might just have to forget this card for sometime.

Why? You don’t file ITR or the income is low?

I do file ITR but well optimized one that doesn't meet the required criteria and I don't have plans to meet them anytime soon either. Also, a Self-employed. So you know how things work 🤣

Yup. Don't you have other card with higher limit?

None of the banks allow C2C for LE. Those who would have done that successfully are very rare and that rare thing must have happened in SBI as well.
I don't think you have experienced what i have with sbicard customer care support from normal customer care to customer support head (last level).

HDFC usually offers LE around Feb-Mar-Apr so you can expect LE early next year. HDFC will enhance the limit in normal cycle and is not very fussy about it like some other banks. But they do it as per their own time plan. I’ll suggest that just keep using HDFC card and they’ll surprise you in a good way. I moved from Millennia to Infinia in under four years. And from a normal account to one of my dependable no fuss bank. Started my journey with Millennia as wanted to have basic HDFC card for offers.

Ya mostly true. Some banks offer new card limit based on the highest Credit limit on an existing card but for LE generally don’t take C2C route.

Who told you this? They allow LE on C2C basis but only accept some bank cc statement.

Like which bank(s) exactly?

Oh that's an interesting point I'll keep in mind. Good to know about your journey 🙂

Hope you have the salary and the credit history to support the LE which banks offer.

Self employed but I do have many transactions exceeding 8 figures and an active auto loan paid on-time with HDFC. Credit history is pretty solid overall in addition to years of relationship with HDFC. But they seem to not care about any of this. They're mostly interested in investments from what I've observed and I don't do it through this bank.

Anyway, I'll put DCB to test for the next several months and see how things go. Perhaps I can take the non-acceptance issue route that some of the fellow members have taken in the past (i.e. if I actually come across such an issue -- I did see this happening just last week at a prominent location where some dude tried to pay through his DCB and it wasn't being accepted, his friend ended up paying via his Infinia....).

For Credit Card holders of Standard chartered, Citibank, HSBC, AMEX, ABN(doesn’t exist in India now), SBI Deutsche Bank(credit card business was acquired by indusind in 2011) or UTI Bank(axis and it seems that they doesn’t accept axis cc statement too). I think you should reach to them for latest info.
