  • You can use UPI LITE X offered by BHIM app and can transact without internet if your device is NFC (tap & pay) enabled & merchant has compatible machine (sound box) NFC enabled Smartphone, Paytm one is distributing NFC compatible Soundbox/QR box since a year or so.
Per txn max limit is 500. You can keep balance upto 2000 at any point of time..However, you can pay max 4000 in 24 hrs.

    • Jio don't support this. It's not GSM compatible. So, it's obvious you need to port, if you're Jio's user.

Mark it as the solution.

A catch(workflow) is a hindrance of it not being progressed too much. (Lite X to Lite X only)

No bro, Paytm is only distrubing NFC compatible Soundbox/QR box since a year so. I had even made the payment.

It's just that others (Phonepe, G-Pay, etc) don't do innovation, not able to bring the same. I only see it as an hindrance because Paytm being marker leader earlier lost its trust & amid RBI emargo & rumours among merchants, lost substantial market share to Phonpe, especially.

No other app except BHIM allows this feature (use LITE balance, no need of internet connection, in case of NFC enabled device).

Everything has its pros & cons, if you don't own compatible devices and say it's a hindrance, nothing was supposed to be in place. For e.g: Let's say 'A' is saying he he wants to pay without participating in Digitalization, however want to pay digitally without using any device other than his hand(s) as in the case of Cash.

Dear you are taking it other way, mass adoption in India, needs rural participation as well, you are expert in All this, but a lot of small shopkeeper or user across India, not familiar with such things, not everyone having or plan to have Paytm Soundbox, or NFC Device.
It's a very good product feature, it will evolve surely as UPI.
Rest using the Digi Eco System, just check ✅ any of my thread.

That's why awareness is required and every stakeholders, especially TPAPs, Banks, NPCI including us (customers) should contribute by educating merchants about it.

According to my observation, atleast in my area Merchant on Paytm> Phonpe> Others. If Paytm will provides cost effective and good product/service, in comparison to its competitors, then why not merchants will favour or will to have it, rather than keeping outdated, inconvenient, expensive product of others.

Even PhonePe is incorporating Smart tag with the sound box, making compatible for UPI Tap & Pay, but not as much as Paytm is doing. They needs to become proactive.

It really comes handy in the circumstance having weak/no internet connection. But it's not properly implemented as of now.
