About 2-2.5 years back created upi id's for my parents using sbi bhim and idfc bank app and I have been sending them money using upi on their upi id's. The idfc one was created a few months after the sbi one. They never use upi or any other such app so I deleted the upi apps after creating these upi id's back then only from their devices. Now whenever I am sending them money using upi I get an error, payment declined by receiver's upi payment provider. I started getting this error for the sbi upi id first and then it started for the idfc one also. I tried sending money using different phones using different upi id's but same result. The banks have no clue about this. It is not possible for them to install these apps right now and try to set the upi id again. The outbound and inbound imps, neft/rtgs works very well for the savings accounts with which these upi id's are linked.
Why is this error occuring? How to rectify this error? Has the upi id's being blocked because there was no outbound upi for all these years and all inward upis? Is there any such rule? I installed sbi bhim upi app in a phone and it does not let one setup the app if the camera permission is not given. Why does the sbi bhim app need the camera permission? There used to be a shitty rule in sbi bhim that if anyone deletes their upi id then that upi id is not given to anyone for 4-5 years iirc. Idfc bank on the other hand uses one's phone number as upi id.
