[URGENT] Help Needed: SBI Branch Manager's Misconduct and Threats

Threat from SBI Manager New

Hey everyone,

I wanted to share an experience my friend had, and I’m looking for some advice.

My friend, who’s serving in the defense, recently visited an SBI branch for an inquiry about locker availability. The branch manager (BM) promised him a locker and also suggested that he purchase SBI Life Insurance. My friend agreed, and the BM processed the insurance through his Yono app.

However, two days later, when my friend visited the branch again, the BM told him that there were no small lockers available and that only large lockers could be allotted. This was surprising to my friend, especially since SBI Life had already deducted the premium. Though Yono app was showing small lockers are available. But other staff who generally handles locker registration (SBI Life agent too) was saying small lockers are available if you do a insurance of 1L - 1.5L and he will allocate on same day itself.

I advised him to file a complaint on the PGPORTAL, and he did, mentioning that the BM had engaged in mis-selling and requesting strict action against the BM.

Now things have escalated. The BM has been calling him at night, threatening to find his Army camp details and file a reverse complaint to the Army. The BM is also insisting that my friend meet him at the branch the next day, but my friend has already moved to his camp. The BM is even saying he will send a letter to the Army requesting 3 days' leave to sort out the issue with SBI.

My friend is confused about what to do next. Can the SBI BM really involve the Army? What steps should be taken now to resolve this situation?

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Its better to have call recording or video.

If you have video directly post in x, then bm will get nice bamboo.

Tell your friend not to worry.
My dad is an ex-serviceman. The Army doesn’t take civilian complaints directly. Even if he sends a letter, they won’t entertain it at first. The Army always conducts a proper investigation before taking any action. Better ask your friend record the calls

1- you can cancel the insurance in look in period
2- try Locker in other psu bank BOI BEING best
3- reservation of compaint..let him call that doesn't matter.. Rm Bm will beg so hard that they will make you belive their life ends of you don't do what they are telling you to else you will always have moral guilt .
4- compaint etc ask BM to do it .. problem is locker. If you friend wanted locker so bad why didn't he took in writing or email before taking insurance.
Banker will promise Giene but they will deliver Spoiled oranges in the end

Being a central govt employee, they can't do anything. Complaining in PMS portal is not a crime. Some of the BM behaves as such we are loan defaulters. Ask him to be be polite and strict in calls.Tell BM that you are recoding all conversations and going to send to RBI. I understand your friend situation and he is worrying about his job. If he cannot handle, block all BM calls and cancel the insurance . Have peace. It looks your friend needs peace than fightingto a logical end
Luckily your friend is getting big locker as I am not getting a big locker for the last 3 years in sbi. I have a small locker already.

Update:

1. He visited local SBI Life office to cancel but they were asking BRANCH stamp to cancel it. But anyhow after argue they took the request.
2. He tried Indian Bank and asked for Biral Life Insurance. Bank Of India - No locker available.
3. I have asked him not to pull back and better not engadge with him on call.
4. I asked him not to worry and shared all the comments with him to give some mental peace.

SMALL UPDATE:

BM called mt friend - He told that he is 100% sure that you cannot write this complain by own (because of english). He will figure it out who helped you out and also he will trap that person in this case as well. 😉
Tell the bank manager either it's Google translate or chatgpt for grammatical correction
Let him complain on them 😂😂

On a serious note I think BM is just barking even if he raise complaint it would still be like bm made a mistake as your friend already purchased policy from them

To f*** around with the BM I'll suggest tell him "I'll give you a hint your own branch employee gave me this whole idea. Now it's you who has to figure out who it was. Kaun tha tumhari Lanka ka vibhishan."

Thanks for the comments.
Update:
BM has closed the complain stating that BM has not forced for any insurance. He mentioned - "He just offered some SOME FINANCIAL INSTRUMENTS FROM BANK ONLY". Also he mentioned - "I have also requested him to open a demat account as he is already investing on Mutual fund."

See, the BM is just trying to force the customer to not escalate again. You should not worry about it. Also, just cancel the insurance within free lookup period. Locker issuance is a problem though.
However, if the BM is close to someone superior in the army, he may try to use that link.
