why do we need cash in Bhatt? Does shops/hotels etc deal with cash only or they accept cards as well? Suppose if forex markup is not an issue will it be ok for people to not carry cash and card will be good for spends?

Many places only accept cash. All 7-elevens accept only cash if bill is below 200 baht. Street food vendors, or any street side stalls are all cash only. Also surprisingly, the airport mrt from suvarnabhumi Airport to city centre accepts only cash. Other mrt in city accepts cc.
