Infinia Using Infinia card & Priority Pass at a lounge

Not open for further replies.
My question is specifically on International Lounge access outside India. I have a HDFC Infinia card with PP for myself and my wife. We both have 2 PP cards because I have added her as an add on card holder.

I want to know how I can use these 2 cards in an international lounge outside India for both of us along with our 8 year old kid.

Can we use the PP twice, or can we swipe the Infinia CC card directly and then the 2 PP cards? Any help from anyone or if you have similar experience would greatly help.

Two PP cards will work for 2 people only.... You can your child as guest but it will be chargeable. The lounge may also allow child for free, but it is not guaranteed, in most cases it does not work out

You cannot swipe the card directly outside India. Only Diners black cards can be swiped directly

Your only option is to request lounge for free child, if they do not allow then add child as guest which will be chargeable or arrange one more PP from somewhere with same initials and surname as child (you can create 3rd add on for your father with same surname and child's initials)

If you use an HDFC Infinia credit card to access international lounges outside of India, you will be charged for lounge fees.

The HDFC Infinia credit card only offers complimentary access to domestic lounges. To access international lounges outside of India, you will need to use your Priority Pass.

I suggest considering alternative cards or passes. Like : Rupay credit and debit cards which offer international lounge access.

Sir IDFC First Wealth also have the same restriction i.e. some charges for international lounge access?

Just wondering if someone has tried using Infinia card & associated priority pass at the same time at any lounge. Does it even allow to use priority pass after Infinia card is used at the same lounge or vice versa?

How does it work? If one swipes PP & Infinia card at the same time at the same time to obtain multiple entries,
- Does it say that the card has already been used and disallow 2nd swipe on either of that
or
- Does it allow swipes and charge for 2nd swipe later that would show up in the statement later

I heard that PP and Card both can be used at Domestic lounges hence the query.
Yes used it recently at both BLR-T1 and Delhi T1D

My friend's card was not accepted.
So I gave them both my Infinia and my PP
And gave them both boarding passes.

I noticed that they checked the name on PP and Infinia at least matched one of us. I.e. we can't get a non-travelling person's card and use it. Sometimes they may not bother, but better not be it.

But if the question is that friend can enter on my card, not a problem.
Also using Infinia and it's PP for entry simultaneously, not a problem.

Yes, this would work only for airports in India where you can use both your PP and Infinia card at the same time. However it will not work for international airports. Please correct me if I am wrong

Now things have changed. You can’t use PP domestically only your cards.

Details have been updated on the portal https://www.hdfcbank.com/personal/pay/cards/credit-cards/infinia-credit-card

Also there are separate threads going on the topic
I would like to share that this was already in the policy. I personally used by PP card in an international terminal here in Hyd in last Aug when I was travelling. And they accepted it. Also I used the PP card in Nov in Hyd airport again and this time in a Domestic terminal. Both times, there were no issues and no charges on the card.

This looks to be a recent change

This is definitely a recent change.
Last I checked couple weeks back, it used to say that PP gives free access at both domestic and international.

Now I am worried if they will charge me.
No charge in March Statement for usage in February.

Has anyone confirmed with customer care?

As @theXfactor has already mentioned, there is an active thread on this recent change. To avoid confusion lets move the discussion there. .
