Waiting since eternity for first credit card šŸ˜”.

Hey folks, I have been using Pay Laters since almost 2 years, FK & LazyPay. I want to close these loans. I applied for Flipkart Axis in January, 2022, after offline KYC it was rejected. Again applied after some day & again rejected. So I wished to wait 6 month before applying anything. Again out of curiosity I applied for Airtel Axis in June, again declined instantly. After that I didn't apply for anything. My CIBIL Score is stuck on 733 from last 4 month because these BNPLs don't update to bureaus regularly. Now FreeCharge is spamming me everywhere since September on WA, SMS, Push Notification etc for FreeCharge CC. Also 6 month passed from my last application. FYI my age is below 21. Should I apply this credit card or wait for a great opportunity as someone told me that Banks approves much application is Jan, Feb & March to reach targets? Should I apply? also created TF account today but I've been reading forum from outside šŸ¤.

Thanks in advance šŸ˜Š.

Hi,
I think the best way to get your first card is via PSU bank. Create a FD and you can get a credit card using that FD. I did the same for my SBI card. If you are looking for a ltf then you can do the same with PNB / UNION Bank.

No I don't want a secured credit card bro šŸ˜. If I wanted that, I could have opened OneCard with FD and made good rewards out of it but I didn't. Also recently opened account in HDFC to get pre approved offer but should I give FreeCharge Axis a chance or wait?

You can try Sbi , they often give cc on low Cibil as well.
Mine was approved when my Cibil was 720 something 6 years back

I think you should wait for a hdfc card instead of a co-branded card.

Are you salaried / have regular source of income ? If no, then tough luck.

If yes, then try approaching credit card agents of your bank in your home branch or any other branch, there is relatively higher chance of approval with them.

As far as I know, if you maintain good enough balance and regularly deposit money in account, HDFC Bank gives preapproved offers for credit card.

You will have to take a secured cc to take up you score above 750.
Getting pre approved offer on having CIBIL below 750 is what I've never seen.
Also you have to put some efforts from your side.
You can use the secured cc to get unsecured cc via C2C method.

Instead of using those BNPLs for 2 yr, 6 months of secured cc would have helped a lot.

There's no harm in getting secured cc, I myself have got a secured cc this month inspite of have 6 unsecured cc from last 1yr

FYI axis doesn't have a cooldown period until the application is approved.
I a application is approved you need to wait for 3/6 months for new application.

Tip.
Always apply for the lowest card variant in order to have highest approval rate.

Also prefer offline mode over online for application.

Yes, I already knew that there is no cooldown period in Axis if declined. So as per your tips, which one should I apply if I have to choose from Axis credit cards ? AFAIK Axis & HDFC is only the banks approves CCs for age below 21 year.

For now the options I have:
1. Wait for pre approval offer since I'm HDFC bank account holder
2. Try Axis credit card's application as luck

I have ITR too but that didn't work in Jan too šŸ„ŗ.

OneCard and good rewards don't go hand in hand.

You can get first credit card only via 2 methods:
1) Offline application through your known person in the bank.
2) Taking Secured card so that your credit score gets generated or move above 722 level.
Use it for 6 months and then when your credit score goes above 760, then you can apply online for unsecured cards and you'll have higher chances of approval as well.

But HDFC offers ig. BTW, should I close these loan accounts right now ro keep it going on until I get a credit card?

So should I meet BM of nearest Axis Bank? They might help ig.

Also HDFC would also offer pre approved offer, as I'm savings account holder.

And one thing, when I applied FK Axis in Jan, on call she asked that if CIBIL is above 730 we'll send the agent for KYC. So 730+ is ok for Axis I think.
