Waiting since eternity for first credit card šŸ˜”.

But HDFC offers ig. BTW, should I close these loan accounts right now ro keep it going on until I get a credit card?
Closing those accounts might decrease your score even more.

So should I meet BM of nearest Axis Bank? They might help ig.

Also HDFC would also offer pre approved offer, as I'm savings account holder.

And one thing, when I applied FK Axis in Jan, on call she asked that if CIBIL is above 730 we'll send the agent for KYC. So 730+ is ok for Axis I think.
BM won't entertain you unless you have a high NRV with them.

Also don't try to get axis as your first card, axis is very unpredictable, they even reject cards for 780+ CIBIL.

HDFC rarely offers anything these days. I'm stuck with their useless Moneyback card since past 3 years even when I'm holding their Preferred account. So don't keep much hope from them.

Coming to credit score thing from Axis, they said they'll send for Kyc, but Axis is the first to reject whenever it comes to CC application (applied online). So not much hope from here as well.

Now what I think you should do is (as you said) you have good relationship with Axis BM, you can contact him for application. Only thing I worry about is 21+ age criteria.

Or you can (should) take the route of secured card for first 6 months.

Yup, Axis is unpredictable šŸ˜‚. So HDFC & a secured one is only the option.

If I have to get a secured card, which one it should be?

Yes, HDFC takes eternity to give an upgrade offer. Also I don't have relationship with B.M. šŸ˜ but I might try. I know they'll try to open savings account with them, but I won't.

As conclusion, it is all luck based until one have good ITR/Salary Slips.

Take SBI/ Indusind.
These 2 doesn't report secured cc as secured to CIBIL.
Other report as secured cc.

You can get Complementary Axis privilege CC with Priority Account.

It'll report as secured
Actually i read in this community that if you have secured card of a bank then it is difficult to get unsecured card of that bank. If this is not true then please can you tell some banks who report secured cc as normal cc to cibil.

Bhai Indusind don't report secured cc as secured cc to cibil? And also tell about that getting unsecured cc after secured is difficult? That part is true or not?
It takes some extra time for the same bank to give unsecured card. In the meantime, you can apply for other banks card and improve your credit score so that this bamk won't hesitate to give you unsecured card.

If u want a good credit score. Get Flipkart pay later. That's it. After that i got so many cards
