It'll be used for max 35km journey per day
In local, no long journey, no Highway.
Seeking budget friendly. No need of sports version. 30 to 40km max speed is sufficient.

I Have heard mixed opinions, should I go for branded ones or local ones.

TVS Orbiter is supposedly pretty good and should fit your needs. You can look at Hero Electric ones if you only want the bare minimum.

If you are looking for budget friendly and health conscious too, I'd recommend getting an electric cycle. You can get a good range around 40-45 km on throttle and 90-100 km on pedal assist modes. I have gone one for around 35K and it's awesome for d2d use.
If you are looking for a electric motor vehicle only, then ather or tvs.

My recommendations:
1. TVS Orbiter (Preferred due to new launch + less expensive than iQube).
2. Hero Vida VX2 Plus (Less expensive + Removable Batteries)
3. Ather Rizta (Consider it if the service in your area is good).
4. Chetak (You can give it a try too).

Decide after test driving all.

How is the seating comfort in electric cycle compared to scooter? I always have problems in sitting on cycle seat.
I think cycle seats are not good for people with Hemorrhoid (piles disease).
