Card holder name doesn't required. you can fill anything on card holders name like - "munni badnaam hui darling tere liye" or "My Name Is Sheila, Sheila Ki Jawani" your transaction will successful.

I understand its not Friday yet but tried adding money to Amazon Pay using HDFC Platinum Rupay, even wallet loading failing as there is no name on the card

Yes, Amazon now change interface for wallet money load, now you redirect to PayU payment page.

your new card is activated and E-com also activated ?

There is no relation with card name, you can enter anything enter card name section.

try again and dnt save your card.

Also share your first 6 digit on your card number/card BIN.

Yes it has variants. If nothing is mentioned, it's mostly entry level card.
Mine is JCB Rupay Platinum

Are you using Amazon wallet load or Gift and credits load ?

payu gateway page still available on Amazon add money.
