what happens when a Bank Discontinues a credit Card ?

suppose my card validity is till 2032 and bank stops that card in 2026.
1) will my card runs till 2032 ?
2) it will stopped immediately and will get card decided by bank? do we got multiple new card options?

asking this because my brother is using regalia ltf since last 6-7 years. he has got paid regalia gold offer, but he wants to enjoy ltf till it lasts.
what happens if bank give some other card at that time?

Relax guys , keep using regalia LTF don't do anything.
When the card will expire like in 32 new card will be sent at your house and that will also be LTF.

Waise LTF card hone ke baad bhi paid card kyu offer karre ye log .

what happens if bank give some other card at that time?

If the bank decides to discontinue a card, they first start giving offers and then ask customer either to upgrade their card to another card or close the card.

Kotak Bank did this with their Myntra card.

Don't upgrade, you can keep using the regalia ltf card till hdfc is running it. They will send you fresh card in 2032 again. LTF status won't change, so relax.

When banks stop a card, they issue a different card. They don't want to loose a customer just because they stopped a card. Mostly the new card will also be LTF for you because your old one was LTF, but in some cases I have seen the new variant to be chargeable. In that case if you write to customer care stating that your old card was LTF and you are not interested in a paid card, they generally oblige.
