What is the stupidest rejection you've ever received?

I will start.

I attempted to open an AU Zero Balance account but was denied because I only have single name. If they can detect it through AADHAAR, they should upgrade their system rather than rejecting it outright. 🤷‍♂️😪

Does your PAN have only firstname and did you provide that?
The comparison between the names in Aadhar and PAN is done through some NSDL API now and not manual, and so it will fail if there is any discrepancy.

How did you get to know this?
I had a similar problem. My PAN had only the firstname and Aadhar had fullname. All of a sudden my KYCs started failing, some time in the recent past (second half of 2022, was fine in the beginning of the year). Asked around and all of them gave this answer. Had to get my name corrected in the PAN. It was a simple process though, can be done online and costs just 50 rupees or so (and a little more to get the physical card delivered).

Also, got to know that the PAN cannot have the surname blank. It allows a blank firstname, but not a blank surname. So if there's only one word in the PAN name, it is surname. When you apply online, you can't proceed if you keep the field blank. When you apply offline and fill just the firstname and leave the surname blank, the person who is filling the details into the system inverts it.

No, both PAN and AADHAAR have single name.

NiyoX rejected too even though I provided them those documents.

Not sure, but I think it's the opposite with Aadhar. Firstname is mandatory and Surname is not.
So when the system compares your name in Aadhar and PAN, it reports a mismatch and fails, because the firstname is present in one and absent in the other, and vice versa for the surname.

If only, every document followed a uniform naming scheme!

Right, this makes sense.
