Bro, I have just opened a new account in IDFC a few days ago and got it upgraded in Select. After that, I have paid the credit card bill in Phonepe using Select visa debit card. So will I get reward points for that? Because day before yesterday I paid bill through IDFC app and 250 reward points for that got credited today but still welcome reward points for select visa debit card were not credited. Do we not get reward on CC bill payment through Phonepe using Visa debit card? Is it works only in Rupee variant?

MCC Code - 4900 Utility.

No extra charges using RuPay variant.

If the wallet load was less than 10k, it could be utility mcc which will give welcome benefits. All depends on the merchant you got

Someone confirmed here that for Indusind Visa, you will get points via Paytm but ₹32 conv charge is there.

For Indusind MC, not confirmed merchant yet.

Yes, phonepe tagged under wallet category on IDFC but you will get reward points because MCC Code is 4814.

Just made a causal enquiry for MCC long back. Sometimes the MCC code for PhonePe is 5311 and sometimes 4814. Both are eligible for Points

Guys, had applied the first tap rupay for the select account and paid the cc bill using it along with the verified merchant name in phonepay, got the regular rewards but not the welcome benefits again like mentioned in the post.

There is no usch waiting time for me in my case. I applied VDC, in few days i started paying CC bills, got rewards next day

Can anyone share if they were able to pay any CC bills using RBL EDC (MC variant) on Freecharge?

For me, it is showing the option to pay the bills but doesn't go to the next page to complete the transaction.

@Abhishek012 , if many guys call customer care and asks for the MCC, do you think they might get doubt, since usually nobody would be worried on the MCC, thus they might inform backend team to investigate more on this ? Later backend might fix this.

He himself tagging banks and posting on Twitter. Doesn't matter if you ask MCC. Everything he shares will get patched sooner or later.
