I've been using Chrome as my default browser for many years. I've signed in to my Gmail account and synced my web activity. It's helpful for me to see and restore the tabs that I open on my mobile when I switch to my laptop. But I'll be changing laptop next month and I'm considering switching to a different browser.

I just wanted to know if it's okay to continue using Chrome or if I should switch to a different browser. In the Windows system, I believe Edge is the default browser. Is it possible to sign in to Edge using my Gmail ID? Or do I need an Outlook mail ID to sign in and sync between devices if I'm using Edge?

Gmail is my default mail ID, so do I need to create an Outlook mail ID to sign in and sync between devices if I'm using Edge? What about other browsers like Brave, Firefox, and Safari, etc.? What have your experiences been with those? Please share.

I got rid of big tech almost 3-4 years back. I use Firefox and have my own email server with a custom domain, have my own VPN (for some stuff you know..). For banks that don't allow custom domain emails (Looking at you, Kotak and RBL Saving A/c) I use Zoho.

Android: Firefox

Android is the only Big Tech I have to use due to the sad state of smartphones overall. But what could we do.....

It is really interesting to see many people using Brave browser.

I came across Blockchain technology 6 years ago and how brave browser user to sync user data and still maintain anonymity. It embraces privacy first.
It blocks ads and website cookies from storing data

From that time Brave has been my default browser

How are you hosting your own server?
And from where are you getting proxy IP for setting up your own VPN? I'm assuming you're using OpenVPN with Wireguard on a remote desktop server or with Pi as access point.

Could you share the custom domain and mail server setup and annual costs?
