Which salary account Would give tangible benefits ?

Is there any informative thread which can show which bank accounts are better for what salary tiers and what would be best ?
So far I tried SBI where they just assign a silver gold platinum something next to ur salary account based on ur salary tier and the only difference is debit cards I assume. Used it for years and no free credit card also.
Then I thought i'd change to HDFC but there is literally no benefit to having a salary account there vs having a 25k min balance account.

Would any other bank be better ? I had heard very good reviews on Citi but ... well good things dont last.
What about axis ? Would they give free cards or benefits with salary accounts ? Or are there better recommendations.

Take axis or indusind
Don't take hdfc sbi icic kotak idfc

Icici has spectacular service, and does offer LTF cards.
HDFC also offers credit cards based on salary level... And so does axis.

It would be a better decision to think about what card you want(for ymwhich you could ponder over your spends) and decide to shift to that bank.

Axis has best cards currently but poor service, as i understand.
Icici has excellent service but poor credit cards
HDFC is somewhat in between

will having salary acc in HDFC improve chances for their higher end cards ?
Icici cards are a joke and the only cards i'd personally prefer to have are axis or hdfc.

Personally Speaking I have used

Hdfc , ICICI , AXIS

HDFC was used 3yrs back during 2015-2020. Personally never faced any issues it is still 0 balance with no charges on Platinum Debit card.Even RM stays assigned till today but she hardly calls at the same time very proactive in replying in case of any urgent need..

Icici service wise is average, when you email to the CC they would reply you with standard answers and not read the entire question unless you speak to them over phone..Their branch service is very ok..

AXIS priority which i have used is also DECENT, but the RM are not at all decent, they pitch very hard for policies , ULIPS , Loan , FD .. the worst part is they tell that AXIS is best bank in INDIA..Not sure if they are trained so much agressively to sell stuff or it was the only particular RM..He never suggested Autosweep facility..i rem having 2L idle money for 5 6 months..The RM did not suggest that i could take loan against policy or loan against equity and i had to take PL and pay processing charge
And no benefit on that inspite of fact i had sal account..I closed the account as i had to open ICICI for home loan EMI..

Basically what ever salary account you open stay away from RM's ..as you can manage most of the things digitally ..

For me HDFC >> AXIS >> ICICI

Credit cards anyways you can get card to card or salary basis..I guess i got ACE coz of priority account..

HDFC is decent overall ..Rest you can decide based on the branch nearest to your location

I am going back to HDFC sal account..as i want less hassle ..My company even supports IDFC but dont want to experiment something new completely..

I'm also moving to HDFC for now since it's known territory and the service is generally good.

My other options were Citi (now Axis) and ICICI. Both of which I don't trust.
Citibank was really the gold standard for me over the last 17-18 years of my salary account experience. Nothing extra but just no hassles. First priority is there are no problems but when there is one, they were very good in solving them - this is what I like the most. Otherwise they don't offer a lot of goodies like LTF Premium CC (Indian Oil LTF card around 15 years ago is in the only offer I got from them) or even other CB benefits like others. Sad that Citibank had to close consumer operations in India 🙁

yes !! Even i have used Citibank Credit card for 5 years.. My experience was seem less.. Never seen a banking service with so much efficiency.. They don't talk like local operators ..Yes after Axis take over its not guaranteed that service will still remain as it was.

Going with HDFC for Salary will definitely be not a regret. Also they are offering family banking at 0 balance which is a plus upto 8 family members. Every bank employee tries to market products for commission specially Axis, ICICI never did that , Hdfc also hardly did.. its how smartly you get away .

with hdfc you can get similar experience as CITI bank but you need to just save urself from RM..The mobile banking might not be the best but can does the basic job also branches are more compared to ICICI and axis so always helpful in case of emergency.

I think benefits in terms of Family banking , Free debit card , Credit Card , decent and prompt service should be 1st priority. obviously we can not expect Goa , Manali trips just by using any banks salary account

Sorry to say but Canara Bank is an absolute nightmare. They are probably the worst even among government banks in our experience.

Both my parents had their salary accounts in Syndicate Bank & Canara Bank respectively, both are merged now, it's been a horror and we absolutely hate the bank
