Yeah I do agree but my number was closed after 90 days.
Bro, your number might have had not received any call/sms for those 90 days and hence that might have had got closed. Otherwise no discontinuation takes place....
I used to receive calls from Jio to recharge otherwise your Mobile number will get discontinued, and that number is still active.

My other SIM is already JIO. So dont want to keep two sims of same service provider. Might switch to Airtel though, do you know if they block in these cases?

Yes I agree, I didn't recharged my secondary jio number more than year and still it is active.

Customer care persons calling me to recharge but I Ignored and didn't recharged still it is active.

Additionally, I Have prime membership till 2025 so I won't do any recharge untill membership over.

Jio says "If you do not do any recharge in 90 days, your number might get disconnected"

From above link what I understood is they won't deactivate the sim if recharge is not done within 90 days

Customer care sometime will call and inform to reacharge if customer doesn't recharge even after six months.

@Bob78900 @SiddharthR @Life_style @ashwink @TheRecharger Wanted to ask 2 things:
1. As you all said, if we keep receiving calls on Jio number, it wont get cancelled, butdoes that also apply if I enable call diversion/forwarding on it ? As in, all calls to that Jio number will be auto forwarded to my other number while keeping Jio sim online on spare phone at home ?
2. BSNL has some GP2 recharge Plan Vouchers. I didn't knew about GP1 and GP2 category and had a read about that. any ideas if that would be cheaper ?

Regarding point 2, I saw that BSNL has special plans for GP2 customers (where sim becomes inactive for incoming/outgoing as you have not recharged for 8 days since last recharge ended).

For Gujarat circle, do you think this would be cheapest or are their any more cheaper options ?

Yes, will work for sure,
No problem, but the caller will suffer as he will have to wait for some time, everytime he calls, to get connected to forwarded number & I think need to hear something regarding call forwarded.
