Why is zomato asking for pan number to open zomato wallet?

Will this be a loan/cc account or is it safe? I don't remember swiggy wallet asking for PAN nor paytm or am I miss remembering something? I had to kyc for apay balance for large amounts but that's what I chose. Didn't have to give pan for apay balance

No, it depends on wallet type..
If the wallet is topped up by Gift Vouchers , no need of KYC..
They are called closed PPI, meaning these wallet balances can only be used for that app purchases only.
Example: Swiggy Money..
Swiggy Money is a closed PPI and can only be used for Swiggy purchases…
Hmm will this report in CIBIL as a credit line?
 
No, nothing like that.
It's a PPI, ( pre paid instrument) , you have to load this first before using it
Ok Thank you. Wanted to redeem gift card, thought I had to redeem to wallet but there is a separate gift card and zomato credits sections, so I don't need this 🙂

yes.. but if u get a swiggy voucher for 500 rs its asks for kyc.. i have experienced it... GV pieces are not really the wallets i was referring to... agree with you
