Worst Credit Card Of The Year 2024 Award Goes To...

Most of the premium card launches this year was a flop. Heavy fees and no value
Even sub premium ones like SBI Kris Flyer, SBI Reliance, some of the citi migrated axis cards, ICICI emeralde pvc paid etc are not worth the fees paid.
Citi Migrated Axis cards?
Axis Rewards card migrated from Citi Rewards became a 7000 per statement card for me.

A sweet spot of 3.3% worth of reward points while with Citi it is 10X worth 2.5% only but unlimited usage on apparel and departmental stores.

While Citi was providing 300 points worth 75 rupees for 30000 spend, Axis is giving 1000 point for 30k spend worth 200

So, A win situation.

Even for using it on other categories, Citi gives 0.2% reward rate where as Axis gives 0.32% reward rate.

Why will you care for 0.3% reward when many easily available cards give 1 to 1.5 % offline? Am I missing something?

Howre you using it exactly? I also hold this card.

Strangely all four contenders are metal cards
Yes,
Banks think owning a metal is a status symbol. Honestly nobody cares about that metal crap if you can't comfortably cover the fees paid!
I respectfully hold a slightly different perspective. While metal cards undeniably exude a sense of premium quality through their look and feel, merely having a metal card without substantial benefits or the ability to offset associated fees does not provide much value.

When I received the Ashva Card, I noticed that its unique design often caught people's attention. Whenever I used the card in public, individuals would inquire about it, and its touch and feel during transactions were appreciated. However, without the attractive offers initially provided by the bank at the time of its launch, the card loses its practical appeal and value proposition.

A useful card in the metal form factor is always appreciated and loved.

I can say those IDFC cards despite looking like high end they are not up to the mark. I was expecting IDFC will bring some value of money competitive cards like their saving interest rates, fd rates and fx conversion.

their savings account is devalued as well. They are giving fd interest only on the balance more than 5L now.
