Wrong payment history reported by bank

Hey everyone!
There is a big problem which i am facing. I have an Auto loan from UCO bank. The payment is done via auto debit from my current account in icici. The problem is that UCO bank has reported payments of Jan, feb and march 2022 as overdue and mentioned under SMA(suspect default) in the credit report. However, the bank statement says otherwise. All the payments have been on time. I visited the branch manager and even he was shocked seeing this. He has even given a written letter that all the payments have been on time and i have a large history of 100%on time payments. This error is due to a problem from bank's side.
I have raised dispute in both cibil and experian, but received no reply yet. My cibil score has fallen from 800s to 600s all because of this. Kindly suggest what should i do? Facing big problems due to this. Even when my payments have been on time, false reporting is being done to these credit companies. 😔😔

Faced similar issue with PNB home loan and some of them got corrected after reaching out to headoffice over email however, this is a recurring issue and no less than a harrasment to the customer. For the recent issue, I have reached out to the head office over email copying RBI asking for the explanation. Awaiting their response.

Have submitted a written complaint in my home branch as well.

Also reaching out to the credit bureaus wouldn't work as they would redirect you to directly connect with the respective lenders to make the necessary corrections. So, please don't waste time there.

They have literally f***ed up my credit history which dates since 18 years back. I had the privilege of loans at the lowest interest rate possible because of my history with banks and my ITR, but now, i am afraid i will be denied even a basic loan.
I did not notice this false reporting earlier. It was only when i was going to renew my Business Guarantee(BG) at icici bank that the branch manager informed that i have payments overdue/default which has affected my cibil. At first, i was like why are you joking, but then he showed me and i was shocked.
Have written to head office of uco bank via email, also raised dispute to bureaus.
Suggest me what further steps should i take. Do anyone has any leads to higher management of UCO bank or email id of people holding high posts in uco bank?

If nothing works, need to open up a complaint with RBI ombudsman.

Can you please share the acknowledgement letter (after masking sensitive info) from your bank manager for my reference? I would also try the same thing for my case.

Also is there somehow any overdue amount showing up in CIBIL?

The letter is currently submitted at the bank regional office along with my account statement.
The letter had nothing special in it. He just mentioned that all my payments were on time and i have a long credit history of on time payments and excellent relations with bank.

The monthly emi amount is shown as overdue in the report.
Any update? Have you tried to reach RBI Ombudsman?

In my recent credit report, last reported date by PNB (my home loan lender) is showing as 15th April and no. of days delay for Apr'22 is showing up as 016.

My EMI date is 29th of each month and the last auto debit was processed on 30th Apr'22. Now the point is if the last reported date was 15th Apr'22 which is prior to my last payment date i.e. 30th Apr'22, how can they even report it as delay and that too by 16 days? Seems like they can do time traveling. I'm literally fedup with them 🙂.

Had a serious chat with Branch manager, and the regional head. They have assured that the errors have been corrected by the bank and will be reflected on 15th of may(next reporting date) .
I was checking my report,i see that they have even sent a credit enquiry to CIBIL and mentioned "others" as for the reason behind enquiry. I think that it is a part if pricess for rectification. I hope that correction will be made. I havent involved ombudsman yet. Will wait till the given deadline...

How did you connect with Regional head?

I visited my home branch and the manager in charge also confirmed there was no fault from my end. My ECS Date is set to 29th of each month and the auto debit actually gets processed on 30th/31st of the each month (depending on the month end date) and that's probably causing this issue which the customer doesn't have any control on.

As a troubleshooting, they requested to change my ECS Date to something in between of a month and I have accepted this as this makes sense to me.

However, wasn't able to submit a complaint on the incorrect payment history reported by the bank to CIBIL as the actual branch manager was not available though I already dropped a note to PNB head office outlining all the details. If this is not corrected within 30 days, will going to open up a complaint with RBI with all the evidences.

Any latest update on your case? I'm also frustrated with a similar case and have opened up a complaint with RBI today.
