Yes Bank Reserv + 3X Subscription Plan

Hi everyone,

I am looking for a new card to complement my Infinia. The main goal is to increase the rewards rate for a few lakhs of donations towards NGOs (both Indian and International). BOGO on movies, and rewards on rental and UPI transactions will be great to have but not necessary.

I recently came across the YES Reserv card, along with the 3X subscription offer for all spends. The following is how I see the reward rates:
  • 9% Points on Online Shopping (except on Select categories)**
  • 4.5% Points on Offline Shopping (except on Select categories)
  • 2.25% Points on Select categories
Assuming 25 paise per RP redemption rate, for flights and hotels.

The 9% rewards rate seems just too good to be true. Can anyone confirm? If it is indeed true, then why is this not the most talked about card for Forex transactions?

P.S: I don't mind paying the annual fee given the rewards.

Hi everyone - I subscribed for the 5x plan. It is now activated as well. But I later realized that 5x rewards are only applicable on 4 categories while 3x are on all? Is this true? So if i make a large electronics purchase now i wont get 5x?

Correct. 5x is for select category.
Have u subscribed or skipped? If yes, which plan and where r u using?

I am thinking to go with paid Marquee card and use it mostly for forex spends only. If I consider 1 point as 0.2rs, as there will be 15-20% discount normally on flight tickets. Marquee will give 2.42% (1.18% forex) return and Reserv with 3x will give 2.73% (2.07% forex). So, a difference of only 0.31%.

For utility, effective difference will be 0.8%. For domestic online, effective difference will be 1.2%.

Marquee can be considered FYF, as it is like 20% discount on a 15K flight ticket. And I actually need to do this much booking in near term anyway.

Next year, marquee renewal will be effectively 1900rs. Reserv 3x subscription fee is 4130. And who knows what happens with subscription plan next year. So not worth doing calculations for next year.

Just to recover 4130 fee in resev at say average percentage difference of 0.8%, it will require 5L worth of spends. With marquee there will be additional bms, lounge benefits too.

Today I got call from customer care that my card is chargeable. But when I applied from the website it clearly said First year free. He’s sure that fees will be levied.

Should this be of any concern or I can relax that customer care executive didn’t know anything.

Can anyone confirm if applied fees is reversed or the fees isn’t applied at all?
Whats Response U Got ? Is It FYF Or Chargeable ?

Absolutely! Marquee is in the Best cards for 2024, not Reserve 3x or 5x

Depends on use case. If you can do 3L spends every month on 5x category, then Reserve will give you return of 27k per month while Marquee will give you 13.5k per month.

Just saying, dont ask me where to spend.
Marquee's USP is Unlimited Lounge access for primar as well as Add - ons...
otherwise Resrv with 5X subscription is better for spend based returns

Yes Reserve with 5x give you 9% return on travel, dining , fashion, healthcare by paying Rs. 5900 per year.

AU Lit gives you 5 + 5 + 2.5% if you pay for travel + 10k milestone + online categories--
Rs.353 for each category per quarter.

12.5% return on 10000 spends per month on travel.
10% return on 20000 spends per month on travel.
For more than 20000 per month on travel, the return falls significantly.

Are you comparing Reserve with Au LIT?

AU LIT caps are too less. There is no point looking at percentage only, we should look at percentage & CAP to calculate max returns in Rs per month. With Reserve you can accumulate max 27k or 108000 points per month on 3L spends.

Agreed that AU Lit caps are low, but for big spends I would use--

Travel (no fee or fee compensated with points)
Magnus burgundy LTF upto 2 lacs/mth 24%
Infinia upto 112500/mth 13.5%
Atlas no lower/upper limit 10--12.33%

Dining (low subscription fee)
EazyDiner double discount over 25%
Many value, mid range & high end restaurants available in big cities at various price points

Fashion (Zero subscription fee)
10 to 90% discounts available on Cashkaro for various fashion brands /various credit cards

Healthcare (Zero subscription fee)
Kotak debit card for 20% discount on Tata 1MG,
At least 10% discount is available with various cards.

Still, Yes Reserve 5x on travel, dining, fashion and healthcare would have been an excellent choice for 9% return (with a generous 3 lacs/mth cap) if the subscription fee was not so high Rs.5900

I think for offline spends and for select category spend Yes Reserve is better with 3X subscription than any other higher Fee varient cards. What is your opinion on this?

Yes, if you don't have Magnus Burgundy or Atlas.

Regarding higher fee variant cards---
Magnus Burgundy is lifetime free if you keep a fixed deposit of 30 lacs with Axis Bank.
In Atlas the 5900 fee is more than fully compensated with miles worth 10000

Please suggest How atlas is providing better rewards on offline and select category?
