Your opinion about the new ads on TF Community

Hello TFCians,

We wanted to address an important matter regarding ads on TFC. We previously made a promise not to display any ads on our platform. However, as our community continues to grow, we have realized that we need to generate revenue to support its development and enhancement.

In order to improve our community, including features like the search section, new technology, and other enhancements, we have made the decision to introduce two Google ads. These ads will be displayed in a non-intrusive manner, with one on the side banner of the homepage and the other on the thread view page. We want to assure you that we have not added any in-page or pop-up ads, as we understand how annoying they can be.

We value your feedback and opinion on this matter. Please feel free to share your thoughts with us.

Suggest that as Ads are important revenue generator, but restricted to

1. Guest Visitors
2. Those with less than say 25/30 postings. Anyone crossing the threshold shall be spared the ad. This will also be the incentive for the active members and also encourage the newbies to contribute.

Understand revenue generation is imp and someone would not even had told users and just put the ads and left it to the users to deal with it weather they like it or not. But you reaching out to us and not just announcing but seeking feedback and immediately working upon it as per feasibility. This definitely tells you care about TF comm and value us users. Thanks 💯. For me I don’t mind these ads they don’t interfere in my experience at all. Please go ahead with these ads placements.

Banner ads are mostly fine and I think is already in place. But pop ups are not for regular users.

Why are we getting scam ads like this?
These Jamatara gang type scammers are running online ads to scam people and these ads are being promoted on TF and DD forums.

Please report the ads as inappropriate whenever you see it. Ads are being displayed by google Adsense, we don't have any control over ad selection.

Nothing, even we are going to stop sending email notifications for watched threads. user will only get email when they receive DM (this can be turned off too).

That is good choice. I had to manually remove Email Notifications in every thread, and even then there are some which I havent removed. Will remove them when I get their notification.

Personal opinion: I was ok with top ad and the bottom ad. Just the middle one was annoying for me due to its size.

Hope this does not affect your revenues too much.
