Kotak Bank Froze My Account Without Notice & Forcing Me to Close It – Need Advice!

FYI, I have Kotak's SB account since 02/2023. This is my main UPI trxns account - I did 498 trxns till now. Sweep out to FDs is what I use regularly.

NEVER got any call from Kotak.
NEVER had any problem with Kotak.

They gave Zen LTF n IOCL cards. Recently upgraded my SB to SB Super.
It all depends on how you operate.
You follow rules - they follow rules.

Sir I didn't played any trick with them I have been doing geniune spends from my Kotak 811 super account.

Sir Can you pin point what they consider as tricks,I don't have any clue.
 
The last transaction I did before it got freeze is I added money above 15k multiple times in kotak 811 super full kyc account via my mother's sbi Debit card then did self upi transfer in my another account I did this only 4-5 times in 2 days,Have used this account mostly for credit card bill payment also sometimes did upi transfer from my parents accounts, my cumulative credit since 2023 is 7 lakhs. I was expecting you to pin mark some rbi clauses which favours my side I didn't did any scam if kotak didn't wanted me to add money then why did they give add money options,also they are saying me if I will not close my account then they will automatically close my account w/o my consent, I have call recording for so and they are not giving me this in written that they are forcing me to close my account.
Nice try at loot. You know exactly what you are doing. Be glad your mother's SBI account hasn't been blocked yet, its for sure will happen in future.

Why don't you go to the branch
And talk to the BM.

Sort out things amicably. Learn the art of getting things done by talking, requesting n discussing. Not by confronting n complaining.
They are saying me to open mab account they said that I have to close it no matter what I do.

You did something - which they did not like.

Go n talk to them. Why discuss it here ? Don't be a crying baby. Be a man n face them n discuss.

Don't hide behind useless posts here. These posts will not help in solving your issue - which only they can do.

My case is almost same bro. I also did some 4-5 self transfers and some credit card bill payments.

My total credit was just 4L in total but still they blocked my account

Few more thing - if you like to share your views on...

1-Income to CC expense ratio.
2-How much total CC limit vs Annual Income is proportionate.
3-How do you or anyone ensure safety of CC/Limit being misused or fraud.

After going through all the pages of this topicc, all I can say is those who get their account freeze never use it within limits or they get to know stuff that matters only after losing access to their account.

For me I kept thing under my control and read stuff, aslk questions to myself and find answers in advance so that banks will have no reason to block me. Always went with offline process of opening account. Put true info. Never used savings account for too many enteries.

Ek ek cheez factor karke rakha karo. Yeh ni ki account khulwayo aur pel do. Online account mein 2L se zyada kaun karta hai bhai? Most of the times even you own documents are the problem. It's okay that Kotak 811 is fully online but still that should be used in limits which dont trigger things. Also never keep day end balance too high. Tfr only when needed and do txns immediately so that by day end you balance should be less than previous day or not 2X of previous day.

When I create FD never leave balance in savings for next day also although my income details and other KYC data is extended with true info. Yet a tfr and then creation of FD. Savings mein bas IDFC mein pada hai 3L. Ussi mein se use karke fir se ussi mein daal dete hai.

Accounts toh hai jinmey txns credit/debit 40L bhi hai but extended KYC done for those.

Better do things by keeping numerous things in mind. Yaha jinke bhi account block huye hai sabko ek hi issue jo unki apni galti hai ki kuch dino mein bahot zyada txns ya aisi jagah txn with same amount that triggered system and falgged account. Patiently kaam kiya karo soch samajh ke.
 
Hope @TechnoFino can tweet this issue so that it don't cause inconvenience to more people, people are are blindly recommending this account to everyone w/o knowing how wonderfully kotak bank treat their customers.I have also seen a thread where kotak bank was harassing a old cancer patient.
I am a happy customer of Kotak for 15+ years. I have only one issue with them. They call me sometimes when I transfer out large amount, but I make sure the same person never dares to call me back again.

I think many people have shared their thoughts. Time for you to reflect on what you did wrong.

1-Income to CC expense ratio.
Doesn't matter, if you have a justifiable income history. You can always say part of it comes from my past savings and you also have other earning members (who doesn't come under IT bracket) in the family.
For example, there was someone who posted spending around 55L from his father's Rupay CC when his father's annual income was in the range of 7L. You will definitely get caught. But if one's income is 20L and he spends 25L he can surely justify it.
2-How much total CC limit vs Annual Income is proportionate.
No relation.
3-How do you or anyone ensure safety of CC/Limit being misused or fraud.
Block all cards that you do not use regularly. It takes hardly 1 min to unblock when you need to use. Alternately, keep a small daily/per transaction limit and change temporarily when you need to do a larger transaction.
