Bank of Maharashtra || Rupay select debit card || REVIEW

This is just for information for people who hold Rupay Select Debit card (i am holding Bank Of Mahashtra- RSDC). When i sent a query to Rupay team regarding the benefits update frequency / renewal of benefits -every year or quaterly, i received following response.

"Please note for the Bank of Maharashtra Rupay Select Card starting with first 6 digits as 6524** the benefit frequency details are based on calendar year and can be redeemed once service out of each category and the details are as follows:

OTT ( Amazon Prime/ Zee5/ Sonyliv): Yearly once
Cab (Ola/ Uber): Quarterly
Healthcare (SRL/Thyrocare): Quarterly
Spa (For Fountains/ HR Wellness/ Kairali/ Aromathai/ O2 Spa/ Lakme): Quarterly
Fitness ( Cult.fit 1 Month/ Cult.fit 3 Months): Quarterly
Golf Round: Quarterly
Golf Lesson: Quarterly "


Previously i thought all benefits were updated yearly only, but now i can use the coupons extensively.
Bank of Maharashtra offered RSDC for free by opening a min bal 25k account.
i hope its useful for all members.

I had an excellent experience with the branch.
Extremely helpful staff.

Timeline as below:

20-Aug-2025 : A/C opened at branch, mobile banking configured, passbook issued. (All in 20mins)
25-Aug-2025 : Cheque book delivered at residence address
1-Sep-2025 : RSDC card received at branch

Would really appreciate the operations at BOM, this was my 1st PSU bank account, impressed!
For me they took 30 days for rsdc to reach branch and 7 days to resolve pin generation issue.
Worst experience from any psu
 
Took 10 days for card to arrive at branch, tomorrow will be picking up the same. I don`t see anything in the app about the app, have doubts about its activation. Green pin and dc setup can be done in bank ATM but not sure ecom can be activated by ATM or how? Anyone has experience ?

Need to turn on ecom in mobile app or NB

Set the ATM pin using green pin from BOM ATM. Once done, card will show as active in the App.
Then enable Ecom/online transaction from App.
 
I visited the branch to open the "BSS-25" account. The lady at the counter didn't even know such an account existed. I had to open the bank's website on my phone to show it to her, after which she agreed to open it.

I specifically told her 3-4 times that I was opening this account only for the Rupay Select RSDC. I also clearly mentioned "Rupay Select RSDC" on the account opening form itself.

The account was opened on the same day but card would be delivered home. When I logged into the mobile and internet banking, there was no option to apply for a virtual or physical debit card.

A week passed with no update on the delivery. I called her directly, and she told me to come to the branch and collect the card.

When I visited the branch to collect it, to my surprise, it was a Rupay Platinum card.

We argued, and from her point of view, I had never mentioned the RSDC, despite me telling her to her face and writing it on the form. I guess she has memory loss like Ghajini; she even forgot that I had called her right before coming to the branch.

Now, she's telling me I need to maintain a ₹1 Lakh AMB for Rupay Select card, otherwise I'll get charged for it. I was so fed up at this point that I just said YES then she applied.

It's been another week, there's still no update, and she is not picking up my calls. I'll have to visit the branch again. I'll let you guys know what happens.

It takes a week and most cases it's only delivered to the branch. If staff is unaware of bss25 account and also about rsdc card then it's difficult to get it from them easily. They are reluctant to find required code or take second approval within branch to apply rsdc for us. So just wait you will get rsdc from branch as it got already applied.
 
I had normal savings account. I visited branch to upgrade the account to bss 25. Within 5 minutes they did it and I submitted application for select card. The card was collected from branch after one week.
Absolutely delightful experience.

She definitely didn't open bss25 account variant as with bss25 u will by default get rsdc

Turns out, it wasn't a mistake. She just admitted she deliberately gave me the Platinum card so I don’t get charged for RSDC. 😑😑
 
I guess the Account she opened is correct but opted for Rupay platinum instead of RSDC.

Update: she picked up call today, no update on card being dispatched.
That's strange because I had specifically asked about this situation to staff and BM and they said that with this variant by default rsdc will be issued so no need to worry about wrong card variant
