ITR processing delay. "Has your ITR been processed yet?"
Everything goes by some logic and automated algorithm.. you just need to wait for your turn..
No need / use of complaint..
Daily ITRs are getting processed. Now as of today around 2.25 crore ITR remained to be processed but still daily 1 lac ITR getting filed be it new or revised.

What's the basis on which you give a complaint ? Do you know the legal outer time limit for processing of filed ITRs ?
I think the ITD has time till till next March.
So, you have no choice than to wait till then. Anyway, they are paying interest on refund amounts. So, why worry ?
You did your duty. Let them do their's.

As per current rules, it is end of AY in which ITR has been filed + 9 months from there.
So ITR filed in one year has the maximum processing time of 31 Dec next year. If someone filed in 2025 then Dec 31st, 2026 is the max. time.
But you will keep getting 6% pa interest on delay. For one of ITR I filed, it went into processing in June 2024 but didn't processed. Later it processed in Nov 2024 but when calculated interest on refund, it was paid till June only. Challenged it and they didn't budge.
Sad state of affairs.

Yesterday early morning, got the 41K refund for ITR-2. All processed n all refunds recieved. 2024-25 is now into archive.

Same here, processed and got refunds 88k.
Actually it was 85k. They added 3k extra as interest.
It was ITR2 filled on August 23rd.

Interest on income tax due
Here is how interest amount on refund currently being calculated.
Amount would be: 0.5% pm (of refund amount) x Number of months including the month of refund.
Months counting will start from April.
For example if refund is paid on Oct 19, 2025 for a refund of 85k the interest amount would be 85k*(0.5*7)% or 85k*0.035 = 2975/-

3 ITR 2 stucked which were filed between July 14-21. Hail IT Dept.
One ITR1 stucked in loop filed in June and ITR5 not even entered processing stage.
Only ~92 Lakh ITRs left to be processed and it seems these 3+1+1 will take a month or more.
Still some of AY24-25 ITR are getting processed if you check the data clearly for previous year. So the 31st, March 2025 deadline not met for these FY23-24 ITRs.
I hope the mess of this year don't affect filling next year or no drastic changes announce in budget that will again make ITR excel utlities go too much changes.
