Planned maintenance - moving servers to India (downtime 11:30 PM)

Hello everyone,

As promised, today we’re migrating the TechnoFino Community server from the US to India. This move - plus a hardware upgrade - will noticeably improve site speed and reliability for everyone.

What we’re upgrading
  • Server location: US → India (lower latency for our visitors)
  • CPU: 6 Core → 8 Core
  • RAM: 10 GB → 32 GB
  • Storage: regular SSD → NVMe SSDs (faster disk I/O)
  • Storage capacity: 2× (more room for growth)
  • Network: 1 Gbps connection
Planned downtime (IST):
  • Start: 11:30 PM, October 6, 2025
  • Estimated finish: by 5:00 - 6:00 AM, October 7, 2025
We expect to finish earlier, but we’ve kept a buffer to ensure a smooth migration.
What to expect
  • The site will be unavailable during the maintenance window.
  • Your account, posts and subscriptions will not be affected - all data will be preserved.
  • After the move, you might need to clear your browser cache or refresh the page once to load the updated assets.
  • Background tasks (email notifications, scheduled jobs) may be delayed briefly while services restart.
Why this helps
  • Faster page loads and lower latency for users in India.
  • Better capacity for traffic spikes and faster processing of background jobs.
  • Improved overall reliability and room to add features in the future.
Thanks for your patience, we’ll post updates in the community thread while we work. If you run into any problems after the migration, please reply to this post and we’ll fix it right away.

Thanks,
Sumanta Mandal

AWS or Azure or Google Cloud or Something Else ?

Intel or AMD or ARM (Graviton, Ampere Altra, Cobalt, Axion) ?

ARM offer better Cost/performance ratio and Energy efficiency / lower power consumption.

People migrated to US should also now think of coming back to India just like TF servers migrating back as VISA fee increased.

Watan waapsi jaruri hai viksit bharat ke liye.

And yes pls tell IT dept to upgrade ITR processing processor from i3 to i7 so that ITR 2 stucked since July gets processed. 🤣

So that American banks know how we apply chuna to Indian Banks via CC and they never came here and launch product.

Khelo dimaag se..... Cashback Parag Se...... (HDFC wala Parag).
Sumanta had used all his credit cards on a US server to get international rewards from Yes Bank, HDFC, Amex and Axis Bank.

8 Core and 32GB RAM seems too much, until something is utilising that much resource.

NVMe upgrade and better network would definitely show difference.
