I recently opened an hdfc savings max ac
Today I received the welcome kit debit card passbook cheque and after delivery i got an sms from CP-VFUSPL
Saying hi customer get pre qualified hdfc bank cc bla bla with a link to a website cardcare.in is this real or a scam anyone got any idea or with same experience here? The site is has very generic content and contains pages for all the banks kind look sketchy also seems to have unfinished pages

I can't prove it, but I am 100% sure that HDFC sells your data to scammers. After a week of upgrading my account to Classic, I started getting these automated calls congratulating me on the upgrade and asking me to click on phishing links sent via SMS. I was getting these calls almost daily and when I reported it to HDFC they confirmed that it was a phishing attempt. No one besides me, HDFC's social media team, my RM and the BM knew that my account was upgraded.

Same happened with me in icici. As soon as i opened a savings account in icici, i started to receive multiple spam calls everday. I can 100% confirm it was due to this bank(icici) only.

Its so bad that banks of all are selling your data to third party which can put people in financial crisis
