Marriott Bonvoy 40% more points on buying

When you book more than 1 room via MB points, say 3 rooms for 2 nights, do they redeem the points first for all the 3 rooms but credit back the points for 2 rooms saying they will redeem it 15 days before check-in? Is this how it works?

No I booked max 2 rooms at a time and I think we can’t book more than 2 under loyalty program
If u got back points then it may due to cancellation
So try other Id for booking 3rd room

This is my first time ever MB award booking, the app says, at a time you can book a maximum of 3 rooms, which I could able to book.
Each room, total stay is 35k, they deducted 1,05,000 points while booking, but refunded 70,000 later after 2 days, the booking of all 3 rooms is intact & I have called & confirmed from the Hotel, shows in the app also. However, as per below pic, it is now showing 11,666 points X 3 rooms = 35000 points. Don't know what's going on.

Not sure whether this refund is due to dynamic pricing but that logic also not working here
As long as property confirms the booking then it’s fine
Just call 3 days before the stay date again

I’m not sure how it works in terms of cancellations for a point based booking. My best guess is they don’t allow it or they will forfeit your points. Maybe check with their support team in general what happens if one cancels a point based booking.
If it helps you save 500 points if they refund it definitely makes sense to do it. It helps with your next booking.
Please help us all know too if you get a confirmation from their end 🙂
Cancelled an award booking night in Marriott Bonvoy and got instant points credit back

But not sure whether it will allow to book same cancelled property again at reduced points…
I canceled at Marriott Bonvoy and booked and stayed with ITC

There is no restriction on number of rooms that can be booked in general.

Best is to book for 5 nights since ytou are charged for 4 nights for all Marriot properties. One night, no points are deducted and so anyway your effective point value increases by 20%. See the below example. 1685530511442.png


Here I am getting a value of 0.36 per point.
However if I booked for 3 nights, the point value would be 0.28p

I booked for around 62k points to a July stay 3 rooms and 6 adults went smooth with single go.
But I got one booking ref in app and next day able to see a mail having 3 different booking ids for 3 separate rooms.
For single room 4 night it’s 5th night free but sad that no offers if number of rooms we book more than one with total 6 nights also no offer

So 3 days before ur stay the points for next 2 rooms which are reversed got debited right?

Yes, that's what was the scary part. If I had no points, I imagine, they would have cancelled the reservation at the last minute.
I am also wondering if that is a one time glitch in their system because they have stopped Points Advance reservations from March 2023 onwards where you could reserve a room even if you don't have enough points. Even in that case, you need to had enough points (either through purchase or transfer) 14 days prior to the check - in date.

I am at ur same scenario booked 3 rooms at one go and next day morning 2 room equivalent points credited back and i rushed a call to property they confirmed date, no of guests are all perfectly 3 rooms
But till today Marriott Bonvoy took one night points only and rest of the points I hold on app balance let me see what happens
My stay is 25 days a head

Yes, make sure you have sufficient points till they don't debit all the points before check in. I was very tempted to book Westin Himalayas with the "free" points. Party spoilt by Marriott 😜

Until 3 rooms check out of no points deduction happens then it’s free lol
Hope they will reconcile at both ends hotel and Marriott Bonvoy so they will debit for sure
