5 credit cards challenge

If you could only have 5 credit cards with you and no more - which would be your 5 credit cards? Would be great if you could also mention the reasons. Of course these will be based on your personal usage, preferences, spends etc., but would be fun to know. Idea is to see if we can create a holistic portfolio of credit cards in a way that they cover all aspects of our spends and lifestyle, thus each card complementing the other 4. What are those 5 cards as of today (as the combination may keep changing with new cards coming up, devaluation in existing cards etc.).
I am so looking forward to hear from members here. Would especially be fun to hear from those who have numerous credit cards and to see how they manage to narrow it down to 5 😛 .

1. ICICI Amazon Pay - Amazon is my favorite online shopping place.

2. SBI Simply Click- For cash back & my very first card.

3. Axis Airtel - For Airtel bill payments

4. Hdfc Tata Neu - For Rupay Upi experience. Will use for offline emi purchase too in future.

These 4 card I already have.

Have applied for Axis Vistara signature & Bob easy. Will update once it approve/reject.

Usually they are too busy in there lifestyle and activities, yes i will be surprised to see few of them here holding such cards especially Dubai First Royale Mastercard and Jp Morgan one 🙂
Not all of them are. A few are reclusive and prefer a sedentary lifestyle. As for the cards, there's nothing to be surprised about. They can afford those cards, and banks often approach them and offer such privileges.

Interesting Thread.. My 5 go to cards are:-

1. HDFC Infinia - Always wanted to have it. One HDFC card is a must IMHO for the offers. This is my Primary Card.
2. Axis Magnus - For travel bookings through Travel Edge and if expenditure is likely to cross 1L.
3. AU Zenith - This is LTF and I do use it regularly for grocery, tele bill through CRED etc.
4. Rupay Select - for UPI Payments.
5. ICICI APAY- for Amazon orders

My wish list

1. HDFC Infinia: Covers almost everything. Amazon/Flipkart vouchers, Utility bill payments via Amazon pay, other shopping via GYFTR partners, unlimited lounge access, redeeming points while purchasing fight tickets.

2. IDFC Wealth: 1+1 on movie tickets twice a month
3. Axis Ace LTF: In future, maybe I'll apply for Axis Ace if given LTF. Infinia gives 3.3% base returns on spends above ₹150. For all spends below ₹150, would use this card to get 2% cashback.(This may seem trivial or even cheap at first glance, but the sum becomes huge a few years down the line).
4. ICICI Sapphiro LTF: For the ICICI exclusive offers, and private lounge access which have ICICI as partner.

As a fifth card, I wish to have Axis Reserve. But it is not given LTF AFAIK, so can't go for the same. Same goes for Amex cards.

My top 5 cards that I would have from my current collection -

1. Axis Magnus (Paid) - For overall spend and using it almost everywhere, at pos, to buy GVs etc. Also I use the BOGO on this for booking standup comedy shows and movie tickets that are higher than Rs. 500. Also the ED offer for 1k off is really awesome.

2. HDFC Tata Neu Infinity Rupay (LTF) - For all my UPI spends, and any shopping at Tata Neu.

3. SBI Aurum (Paid) - For 4 free movies every month. I don't use it for anything else other than the movies, but unlimited lounge access through Dreamfolks is really nice. Also this card feels more premium than any other card I have in my collection. But probably will close this card this year as no renewal benefit.

The above 3 cards are the only ones that I keep in my purse.

4. Axis Vistara Infinite (Paid) - I mainly hold this card for the CV Gold membership, I just love that. Also the sector that I regularly travel (IXC - BLR) has economy ticket in Vistara for around 7.5k, so getting a business class ticket for 11.8k is value for money for me. Also this is the first card after which I started my credit card and points journey, so I really like it.

5. HDFC Regalia (LTF) - Because this is my oldest card and you get a lot of offers on HDFC as well. Also this can be a good backup card because HDFC and Visa combo works at most of the places where some other bank card might not be working due to some issues.

Bonus card: Axis Airtel Card (FYF) - I just use it for utility bills and my Airtel wifi connection, get around 400-500 cash back every month. This can replace Regalia as a more useful card in this list, but because Regalia is my oldest card and you generally get offers on HDFC while buying electronics, it is there in 5th. Also I already have 2 Axis cards in the list 😂.

Axis Airtel looks good, never considered that. I was happy getting 50 bucks on each bill by paying through AU Zenith 🙁. Let me close my Flipkart to get this.

My current cards:
1. HDFC Regalia - Used for everything except fuel (use sbi IndianOil debit card), wallet load. Aspiring for that elusive Infinia upgrade.
2. Amex Gold Charge - For reward multiplier, wallet load and risky sites. And for that extra bling in the look😉
Closed below within 2 months of receiving:
Magnus - in my opinion too many calculations, rules and too much to track.
Indus Legend LTF - low reward rate, unresponsive customer care.
RBL Shoprite - Don't know why I applied for this.
Smartearn - closed after receiving Gold charge.
Used to hold around 5-6 cards. But I travel very rarely and don't book star hotels too, so simplified the portfolio for peace of mind.

My current Cards:
1. HDFC Diners Club Black (LFT)
2. SC Ultimate (5K Annual Fee)
3. Axis Magnus ( Holding for last 1.5 Years and got the annual Fee waived 🙂 )
4. SBI Prime (Planning to get rid of it soon)
5. ICICI Rubyx (LFT)
