I got a huge surprise from SBI Today. I was just sitting there, watching Netflix. Out of nowhere, I got this message :-
I went through the process. Surprisingly, all my details were pre-filled. Including the PAN Card. Even, my company name and its exact address were also pre-filled. . I don't know how they got it. Only the photograph was needed to be captured.
Then, they asked me to provide bank account details. I wasn't sure which account I needed to provide, so I provided the same one where my salary was credited. They deposited Re 1 /- , and after that asked me to deposit it back from the same account to SBI (all links were provided), to complete the verification.
Within a few seconds, the approved limit , the annual charges (Rs 499 + GST) were shown. I clicked "Confirm". My card was instantly generated. The card number, CVV, expiry date, all things were shown. There was also a message that an Amazon voucher of Rs 500/- will be sent to me within 30 days.
The only problem that I faced was, even though I have a very good internet connection, the application used to run into error multiple times. But, there was an option to retrieve the application, and it continued where I left.
I only hope SBI quickly brings this card into RuPay.
Now, just out of curiosity, I went with this link. The card was pre-selected. I tried to change it to Simply Save, as it was available on RuPay, but the same was not available in the list. There was SBI BPCL, but I already use a fuel card from my cousin (add-on), so I didn't want that one.
