Query regarding Priority Pass

Hi,
I have an infinnia card and i wanted to share the priority pass lounge access with a family member who is travelling abroad.
Now my query is HDFC mentions that guest usage is charged at 27 $.
So how is guest usage considered
1.Cardholder bring another additional member with him/her
2.Cardholder is not the cardowner.Family members card i:e dad, brother sister
https://www.hdfcbank.com/content/bb...Landing Page/Credit Cards/PDFs/Lounge-TnC.pdf
Also magnus mentioned that for complimentary guest visit primary cardholder should be there.

So lets say now my family member wants to use a lounge abroad and i give him/her my magnus and infinnia priority pass will i incur 27$ charge at international lounge?

I understand that guest access is only allowed when the cardholder is present. You cannot give your priority pass to someone else and ask them to use a guest access

Complimentary access is only provided to primary and add-on members individually for Infinia PP users. The priority pass holder must be present(for security reasons) and access will be restricted to the card owners for. Guests can be swiped along with the card owner, but will be charged an additional access fee of $27+GST. HDFC also explicitly mentions in their tnc that guest access shall be charged, so I advise you to avoid trying that even though others have been successful in getting free guest access. The best course of action would be to get add-on cards for all the members which will entail issuing separate PP for them as well.

It's anyway to late for issuance of new pp.
Flight is at the end of this week
New add on won't come before that definitely.
Best option is get complimentary access by booking biz tocket

Also lounge access is overrated these days. Most lounges are crowded and serve mediocre food. If you're going for the free drinks to get hammered then ok.

Otherwise most likely much better value if you can find a quiet cafe/bar/restaurant to eat/drink or other space to relax.

Al Maha Lounge in Doha is a prime example. Usually gets extremely crowded and very little food(if you can call it that). But the business class and first class lounges in DOH are one of the best in the world.

I got priorty pass for add-on delivered in 2 days. @xywowowvw can try your luck.
I guess, there is provision to access lounge via app. You can add deatails of PP onthe go, so that your family member can access lounge(P.S.- Never tried this method, just giving suggestion if it works)

That's over generalizing things and more true in India. Globally there are plenty of world class PP lounges as well as decent airlines lounges that allow PP acess (eg: TK).

It's hard to make such observations without knowing where OPs family is going. 🙂
That is true. Many PP lounges in Thailand had barely any crowd. They were pretty good too.
Good selection of food, champagnes, wines and even showers.

But if someone is looking for THE BEST lounge then those are ones you get from Business/first class tickets which are not accessible otherwise.

Most airports with high passenger traffic will have decent lounges and have multiple options to choose from. You can access business/first-class lounges through higher tier FFP status without a J/F ticket. Also, you will be surprised to know that you can access some business/first class lounges with PP too. 😉
Next time, you should check out the Oman Air lounge in BKK. The lounge feels a bit dated, but the food is incredible.

I think for that you need the priority pass number first, which you will get after the card is delivered. Another complication is that PP number on all cards will be the same in the case of HDFC cards, so it won't allow you to create multiple accounts on PP website.

Personally tried for one family member.
RM made me open bank account for family member to get add on card issued.
Took approximately a week as video kyc failed had to go to branch
Also what I check that in some lounges you can pre book lounges it is mentioned on pp website.
It requires a 6 pound charge but not sure if they will allow my family member to use that access
