Amex platinum travel application rejected

Hello,

I recently applied for the Amex platinum travel card and received a rejection email. My CIBIL score is 804 and I meet all the criteria to apply

Can someone please help me with this

Well, are you from a metro city? Amex accepts applications only from the areas in which they operate. Further, even if you reside in one of those areas, but your address proof doesn't match the same, then they'll reject it. Only way is to change the address in KYC Document.

You can call and check with them if this is the reason for rejection.

Yes I reside in a metro city and my address proof indicates the same. When I called them to check, they mentioned that due to internal policy and did not provide any specifics around it

No one can answer this. You need to see the benefits and decide if it’s beneficial for you to upgrade. If you can spend 4L a year then you can consider upgrading otherwise pass the offer.

If you have an existing MRCC, Gold card then yes. With just a platinum travel card, no.

I had Amex platinum reserve cc with a limit of 1.2L, but I closed it after using it for 6 months due to acceptance issues. I now wanted to get platinum travel card, even though I satisfy all the requirements specified on the website, my application was rejected saying I do not meet their internal requirements. can someone suggest me on how to proceed from here.

You can apply for mrcc and gold charge card and try your luck .

I applied for Smartearn and it was pre approved for me. After using it for a month I applied for plat travel again and got the card and surprisingly plat travel was also pre approved this time and I did not have to upload any income documents.

If you have 1 amex and the details provided are kind of sufficient for any other card. Amex will just instantly approve you for that card.
