I have got new HDFC credit card with only Rs. 5000 credit limit. During credit card application it was showing credit limit will be 1.25 Lakhs. Its been many days, I still have Rs. 5000 credit limit. Even welcome letter of physical card was not showing credit limit. I already have another HDFC credit card with credit limit Rs. 75000. I am in utter confusion about my credit limit. Useless Customer care also has no idea about merged credit limit.

It would be nice if you explained a bit more like.
your existing CC name
your new CC name
when did you apply?

etc..

ANyway, when you apply for co-branded cards , initially HDFC gives 5k inital limit and after 5 days your shared limit will kick in..
This is a normal practice .. nothing to worry...
Enjoy...

Existing Tata neu plus
New Swiggy card
Applied on 20 May

Its been 7 days still my credit limit is 5000. This is Donkey HDFC. I need to make big purchase and HDFC is now irritating me
This is a very peculiar scenario that we are experiencing here.. ie co branded card on top of another co-branded card.
This seems to be followed up with the bank continously..
This is an exceptional case.
All the best

It doesn't normally take that long - 7 working days from activation (first spend) is what HDFC told me for the Swiggy card. Try calling HDFC customer care a few times to release the limit - that worked for me.
I have told customer care multiple times. Bunch of morons sitting in Customer care, they don't have any knowledge about shared limit / floter card. I am fed up

I'm not going to refute that at all. Until I got my Infinia in 2022, I was frustrated with HDFC's ineptitude for 9 years. Email the Grievance cell & try via Twitter too. One of the channels is bound to work. It was stuck for me too & I pinged them via multiple channels on the 7th day (5th working day) and again on 8th working day. Second time worked, when I called Infinia support line.
