Unable to register with Amazon Pay UPI after factory reset

After factory resetting my phone I am unable to setup Amazon Pay UPI. SBI Bhim UPI setup easily but Amazon is sending the coded sms but still failing. And after 3 sms it gets blocked for 24hrs. It's been 3 days and I can't set it up. I shop a lot from Amazon so having the in app UPI is useful.

The process goes like this:
>I click on Link Now in Amazon Pay App
>It says Device/Sim changed, needs reverification
>The progress bar goes on for 60 seconds and then it fails
>I retry for 3 times and then I get blocked for 24hrs.
This is going on for 3 days

Do note that I also have SBI Bhim Pay app and in that the setup worked in 1 try.
Also my phone has Oneplus Dialer as default dialer instead of Google Dialer, shall I try by making Google Dialer the default?

did you try
- checked sms are going through that number and set as default sms sim (if having multiple sims)
- restarted mobile and tried again
- reinstalled app and tried again

Also, dialer no way related to this issue.

Yes, tried all those steps.

- try with mobile data or wifi once, whichever you haven't tried.

if none of them working, then wait for 2 days (don't initiate anything) and try again.

Yes. Everything is default. Google messages and Google Dialer.

Not worth getting headaches for measly cashback. For Amz Wallet loads for recharges will use my DC and for shopping my AmzPay CC.

Btw any idea how to delete my existing Amazon Pay UPI id's. Also if they are left as it is will that pose any security risks?

if not registered then its already deleted when u changed sims, upi section at the end manage upi ids -> deregister upi

first you try to register upi with SBIUPI app if you failed to register then connect SBI customer care for more help or visit branch..

This is not a proper solution as all other upi apps incl sbi upi, bhim, gpay are working so branch won't help.
Only Amazonpay is failing.

Update: I complained again to Amazon Pay Team yesterday and they raised an investigation.
Just now I tried again and I was able to register in one go.
