Need help Regarding HDFC Savings Account

I have got HDFC Swiggy LTF recently. Now I have around 4 5 lakhs cash in hand from the business. I need to do FD with that amount as after 7 to 8 months from now that cash will be needed for the business. So my only option is to do FD. I have only SBI savings account. Now as I have cobranded HDFC card and looking to get a core cards from HDFC, I was wandering if I should open a HDFC savings account and do FD in it for pre-approved HDFC CC offer.

So my question is-
1. Should I do it?(Open a HDFC acc and do FD in it for 6 7 months)
2. If so then, which type of account should I open? And what to remember while Opening the account?

Thanks in advance if you could help me.🙏

Go to your nearest branch, tell them you will do an FD of 5L, open regular saving account and ask them to upgrade cust id to preferred. Also, ask them to issue a core CC (not likely but it's HDFC anything is possible). In a semi-urban branch you can negotiate a lot with 5L FD.

Yes my nearest branch is in semi urban City. I am not looking for any High variant card just want any card that will work in sale discount let it be moneyback or freedom etc. Can I get them LTF? Or should I just go for it if it's charged card also?

Thanks. My expenses annually barely reaches 4 lakhs. I also have SBI CB. So I don't need Regalia or Millennia. Just want a core card that works in the sale discount. What do you recommend now?
also have a look

negotiate with branch

first force for LTF but take even if paid
start with dcb then regalia gold and finally settle at millenia

if you get paid do not activate card and you will get a call to activate and make it LTF then activate and enjoy.

Oh ok. And one more thing, I saw a lot of post regarding a HDFC debit card which provides 1% cashback for CC bill payment. Can you tell me about it? If I can get it or not? Should I even get it?

nahh for now just get millenia debit card(2.5% upto 400 of every online txn even cc bill pay and 1% on wallet load upto 400
but 400 is cumulative of both) and millenia credit card (good card indeed)
so a good combo

Thanks. So the final verdict is that I should open a regular savings acc and get millennia debit card and millennia cc if possible let it be charged or LTF. Thanks a lot.🙏

opening regular of SB max is your choice
with sb max millenia dc will be free
chargeble with regular one

and start negotiating with higher variant the higher you get the better

In my experience Indusind is best with choice account no. For HDFC it depends on the employee, if he wants to do the extra work of a few more clicks or not. IOB has a feature where you can set alphanumeric account no (eg VivekIOBAct). I am HDFC Preferred customer and even then they were like 'sir thoda extra kaam hota h choice no p plss normal kar lo' for my second savings account.

And account no choice should be an optional default for all banks just like email ID but these illiterate bastards won't understand that. It's no longer 1970s, account no can be alphanumeric but apart from IOB I haven't seen the feature implemented in any other bank.

varies branch to branch
every branch is not hyperactive after all
we have to find a good branch/jugadu agent ourselves to do our job
Apparently they are saying they can't give me a second card. They are saying open a savings account and then do transaction on it you will get pre approved offers for cards. Is that true? Should I open a savings account and do FD for 6 months to get pre-approved offers? @kuchbhi

Actually there is a problem after getting co branded card the pre approved offers for core card stop

So you need to negotiate beforehand to get the card
Try other branches.

Yes. They also can't confirm that pre-approved offers will come or not. So opening savings account not worth it. Thank you 🙏 Only option left is to go through Paytm Route.
