Nope, Physical DC isn't required. You can get VDC without any DC present in the account.

It is 1000 points per each lakh of spend for Physical DC.
For Virtual Rupay DC, again it is 2x.

So, 2000 points per 1 lakh spend on Virtual Rupay DC.

I could only find https://sbi.co.in/web/personal-banking/cards/debit-card/sbi-virtual-debit-card which does not state any such thing.

Does it depend o account variant too?
