Is Infinia worth it ?

Just my opnion that Infinia is kinda overhyped and its not worthy for that much. Reward rate is pretty good but problem comes when in redemption there are too little options for redemption for 1:1 ratio , and also welcome and renewal benefit of 12,500 points after paying the fees is good enough but then, the card holds its value only for those who travel quite a lot. Compare it to Emeradle priv metal and both are kinda the same only but just that icici has a few more irrelevant sites vouchers are available which arent any useful

it only holds value if you travel a lot. if travel is not your first priority, might as well settle with SBI Cashback card.

I've 1.5 lakhs Infinia points and don't know what to do with them. Don't have any travel plans anytime soon. Tanishq is another good option but one would loose on ~10% returns if points are redeemed against vouchers. So is the case with apple products and they don't sell pro max models or watch ultra.

Also please explain how is it useful if one travels? Can we redeem the points in smartbuy as 1rs value for travel booking?

yes sir. 70% of the ticket price can be paid using points and 1 point=1 rs while booking tickets through smartbuy.

Also, I've found smartbuy ticket prices to be among the cheapest ones compared to any other broker.

For flights it's a very good card.

Hmm ok. Don't know if it will be so much useful for someone whose flight spends are like 6000 in 3 months once.

Well, you could still pay 4200 of that 6000 using 4200 Infinia points. That gives you ability to redeem about 17k per year at 1Rs per point.

If you pay bills where points are difficult to get like electricity bill, mobile bill/recharge, broadband bill, insurance premiums etc using Amazon PayPal vouchers that you can buy using Infinia while getting about 13-14% points, that is good value according to me.

You can get Tanishq vouchers for 1:1 redemption ratio. Did you mean redeeming points for other vouchers from INB then?

When redeeming points for Tanishq, we effectively get only a 3.33% return on the remaining 30% payment made via the card, as Tanishq purchases do not earn accelerated rewards unlike other items in the catalogue.

Ideally, with Infinia, we can achieve a 14% return on Tanishq vouchers. However, redeeming directly for Apple or Tanishq reduces the overall returns compared to alternative routes.

Flight redemptions, on the other hand, offer the best value with no compromise.

while redeeming for flights also, we get 3.33% only on remaining 30% or more compared to Tanishq voucher redeeming?

For someone whose smartbuy flights is 50k a quarter and not that much GV DCB Metal is better because 10k from quarterly milestone

Was able to complete it every quarter

Practically you are just paying taxes(Rs.2500) as the annual fees for the card which is recovered in less than a fortnight, in that fees getting 3.3% base return, unlimited free lounges with benefit of taking two people in the lounge at the same time in India, great travel earnings(especially on hotels with 10x rewards)/redemptions at 1 point=1 rupee, smartbuy flight prices are even less than skyscanner on some instances, instant discounts on e-commerce websites occasionally, positive forex returns(even better with GVP), and maintaining the base reward for around a decade with practical devaluations and very less exclusions compared to other banks

It’s still one of the best cards anyone can get.

My biggest hurting point is Accor transfer devaluation. 😔
That was very good when it was 1:1
