Axis Bank account closure questions

I have an Axis account with MyZone credit card but with 1.2L TravelEdge points.
I thought I would get M4B just to make use of 5:4 ratio, but when I approached customer care, they are asking to close this account and open a new Burgundy account.

I don't mind closing and opening a new account as long as I would be able to retain the MyZone cc and my travel edge point, anyone has experience on this?

You can upgrade there's no such requirement just escalate to PNO saying the branch is insisting on opening new account and not upgrading.
