To all the Citi card holders - a gentle reminder
================================
If your Citi card is LTF, or has been converted to LTF, then consider keeping a proof of the same. After migration, we don't know what games Axis will play. They are known to never honor their deals.
I am very very certain that the existing Citi cards will not be closed, unless they directly violate Axis Bank's strict policies - example - if Axis has strict policy of a maximum of 4 cards, and after merger, a person tend to have 5 cards - 3 from Axis and 2 from Citi, then , Axis may ask the person to close a card. Other than that, they will most likely not close any existing cards.
Because, it will not make sense for Axis to pay such a hefty price in acquiring Citi's business. They didn't consider converting Citi PayTM cards to Axis was because that would make Freecharge cards null and void, where Axis has directly invested (Freecharge is owned by Axis). And if they would consider closing all existing Citi cards, they will loose probably 50% pre-Citi costumers within a month.
So, keep all documents, proof, as much as possible with you. We never know what might hit you
