Whole implementation of NCMC in India is flawed. Maintaining a separate wallet within the card for each metro/bus system for each city is annoying. On top of that, many executives at bus/metro stations don't know how to load NCMC card, and insists to use their own proprietary card. And honestly, those proprietary cards works better in most situations.

Singapore's metro has a much better system where tapping any NFC cc/dc completes the payment. When we can pay by tapping at shops, why not implement it for fare collection? IMO, it would be the most efficient use of tap-n-pay technology.

Wallet se karwayega tabhi toh jada lootega na 😂

By the way, Singapore's model is more convenient and it should function like that, acceptance from all card having contactless payment system.

By loot you mean to say the unused funds lying in the NCMC wallet?

So we need to recharge for each service created ? Isn't the wallet/ account common for all services created ? If it's a season ticket kind of a thing, then it's fine. For general everytime use they shouldn't ask for separate separate wallets.

₹105 in my case. 😏
AFAIK Offline Wallet money can be used anytime even when the CARD is not active.
That's why they mention in T&C that Offline wallet money can't be blocked(not responsible) while the card is lost and the wallet money can be used by anyone who holds it.
You can block the use of Debit card(Online) but not the Offline balance amount.
Limit of maximum 2000 balance is for that purpose only.

True. Hence the extra loading/validation step is required to sync up online balance with offline wallet (given the terminals are offline so need to use AVM).

AFAIK, All NCMC systems work just like our India's NCMC system (load money to your offline wallet and use).

When India's NCMC system was being built, NPCI gave the example of Singapore and Hong Kong NCMC system.

NCMC like systems already exist world over: Oyster Card of London, Octopus Card of Hong Kong, EZI Card of Singapore, Nol Card of Dubai, PASMO card and SUICA card of Japan (or another is FeliCa develop by Sony), T-Union of China, Mondex of Canada, Chipknip of Netherlands, Geldkarte of Germany, Quick of Austria, Moneo of France, Proton of Belgium, Carta prepagata of Italy, SUBE card of Argentina, Touch ’n Go and MyRapid Card of Malaysia, Upass card of South Korea etc

Currently, India is also working to expand India's NCMC system to African and other Asian countries.

Cannot comment on other country's AFC system, but in Singapore I used my regalia cc directly and it worked. There is a little surcharge over the usual fare if foreign card is used, but that's understandable. And for those travelling for few days, it's actually better than buying ez-link.

Singapore's AFC gates accept both online and offline cards.
