Hi, NPCI now allow Banks, Metros, Buses to accept RuPay NCMC debit and NCMC Prepaid cards.

Many people are asking me how to activate RuPay NCMC debit card ? How to load money ? How to use etc.

What is RuPay NCMC Card ?

National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) is Transit Card/ Metro Card is India. Single Card use on any Metros, Buses, Toll, Parking, Railway, Para Transit & Retail shopping etc.

You will get offline Wallet based contactless Payments option. Load Money on your RuPay NCMC Offline Wallet and use any Metro AFC gates in India. Same like any Metro Cards in India. Some Indian buses are also start accepting RuPay NCMC cards.

How to activate RuPay NCMC Card ?

You RuPay NCMC Card activate through Metro counter and Metro staff will help you to activate your NCMC card feature.

How to load money on my RuPay NCMC Card Wallet ?

You can load money from Metro counters or Online from your bank Internet banking or Mobile banking app.

How to Use ?

Just Tab on entry AFC gate and exist time tab on exist AFC gate.

What is the limit for my offline RuPay NCMC wallet transaction ?

Well, limit is decided by the banks, i shared here Bank of Baroda RuPay NCMC debit card offline wallet transaction limit -

Note - The limit may change in the future.

• Maximum per transaction limit for money add transaction - Rs. 500.
• Maximum daily limit for money add transaction - Rs. 2000.
• No. of money add transactions allowed per day - 4.
• Maximum balance in card (stored value) at any point - Rs. 2000.
• Max per transaction limit for card for offline purchase - Rs. 200 (retail payments) & Rs. 2,000 (transit payments).
• Maximum daily limit for card for no. of offline purchase transactions - 20.

Here Delhi Metro Offer 10% off on RuPay NCMC Card payment during peak hours and 20% off on non-peak hours.

Last time i heard Delhi Metro airport expressline accept RuPay NCMC Cards but now I see it is expanding to other Delhi Metro stations as well.

Bengaluru Metro now supports all banks NCMC RuPay Debit cards, so there is no need to buy a new card to travel. Today I activated my SBI NCMC debit card service creation at the metro counter and loaded 200 Rs.

I travel by metro regularly in Bangalore, and today I checked at the Banashankari customer service counter if there was any possibility to link my existing SBI Rupay NCMC debit card. The person checked, created the service and loaded the amount.

Mumbai BEST buses also accept RuPay NCMC Cards and they also issue their own Chalo BEST NCMC Card by yes bank but you can also use other RuPay NCMC Cards as well.

In delhi it is complete hassle to use these Rupay NCMC at Metro.

Regular Metro Card Card is far Better as of now, atleast for DMRC.

I can recharge my DMRC Card, from many third Party Apps like Amazon Wallet and Airtel App.

DMRC Card also Gives 10% and 20% discount respectively.
Plus
I can save upto 25% extra by recharging it online by Amazon and Airtel App.

After Recharging it online, I just have to Tap it at any AVM to get the Balance loaded in Card.

In case of Rupay NCMC, I have to load it first using a Particular Application only and from my Bank Account. I can not use credit card to load it.

Even after, loading it online, I have to contact Customer Service Desk to get the Balance loaded in Card.

At Customer service desk, a long Queue of Customers are already waiting for us which is not the case with DMRC Metro Card since it can be loaded by just tapping at any AVM.

I have this SBI Mumbai Metro Prepaid NCMC Card:

It worked flawlessly across all Mumbai Metro Lines, BEST Buses, Bangalore Metro, etc. Plus it gives some 1-2 rupees discount on Mumbai Line 2 and Line 7 rides.

I have found recharging it to be a complete pain. It cannot be recharged at Line 1 stations. It cannot be recharged in BEST Buses. It can only be recharged at Line 2 or Line 7 stations using only cold hard cash. Multiple times multiple stations they have refused to accept anything but cash. If you want to pay online (UPI, card, netbanking), you can do it on this portal: https://transit.sbi/swift/customerportal?pagename=mmrda but then you have stand in a queue at the station to get recharge actually loaded in the card.

Bangalore Metro also supports Prepaid NCMCs of different cities it seem. I did not activate anything at a Bangalore station, just tried my luck with my existing active SBI MMRDA Mumbai card and it worked. I'm curious where all this SBI card will be accepted, will test as and when I can across cities.

Went to the station yesterday and they could not activate the transit balance which was loaded. Their machine dint accept it.
CMRL guy told to visit next time and meet the dedicated technical official to sort the issue!

Stuck with the card.

Chennai Metro launches National Common Mobility Card, 1.8% charges will apply on recharge. It is a single card that commuters can use in different transport systems in the city and metro systems across the country. In future, commuters can swipe these cards for travel in MTC buses, suburban trains, parking and retail outlets.

Commuters travelling to other cities can use the card now when they take a trip in MMRDA Mumbai Line 2A and 7, Bengaluru Metro, Delhi Metro Airport Line, Kanpur Metro, BEST buses Mumbai and Kadamba Transport Buses in Goa.

This is old news - “Soon, new RuPay NCMC cards that will be linked to bank accounts will be made available for commuters and it will function as a debit card and a wallet that can be used in transport systems. Commuters can go to the nearest bank branches and ask for RuPay cards that have NCMC facility,”

I think ICICI RuPay debit card is not supported NCMC (not sure) but ICICI have some RuPay NCMC Prepaid cards.

I ordered the Paytm Transit card after this post...I was signed up for the physical card many times over the last few years...never got a notification that they actually made a physical card and made the damn feature actually work.

Used it seamlessly in both Line 1 and Line 2/7. It's by far the most convenient NCMC card for recharge as you get a separate transit wallet in Paytm to recharge/use this card.
