How to get ICICI SAPPHIRO AMEX?

Dear all,

I received a pre-approved ICICI SAPPHIRO Master card last year. At the time it was issued, Amex was banned from issuing any new cards, therefore I received only the master variant. I was informed that once the ban gets lifted, the Amex variant would automatically be offered too. Like before, when they were usually issued as twin cards [Master + Amex] prior to the Amex ban.

It would be helpful if you could kindly help me with the following queries:

1. a)Has ICICI begun offering Amex Variant?

b). If so, how does one go about applying for it or would it be offered automatically?

1. Even ban removed for Amex still ICICI didnt renewed the tie up for the same
2. If Amex issued then saphiro is really worth to get more yield like bday offers and coffeeday vouchers

Buddy, can you or someone please tell if the card upgrade creates a new account entry (not hard hit, but entry in account) in CIBIL or not ? Let's say I get an upgrade from Coral to Rubyx, will ICICI close existing cibil account and create a new entry ? Asking coz my ICICI CC happens to be oldest account, so want to be sure before applying for an upgrade

Did you you get preapproved LTF Sapphiro by opening a wealth account or by salary account?

No. Not at all. Actually I have made my wife first holder in my Weakth Account but even when I am showing her salary as 30LPA it’s showing only coral as LTF.
I individually applied ICICI credit card based on salary and current cc they offered me LTF Sapphiro.

Why would anyone wish to do that?

I don't see much benefit in having the Amex variant and given its restricted usage, why to carry two cards and thought of moving to Visa. Is there any use to the Sapphiro Amex compared to Visa variant?

I have ICICI wealth management account too. Branch usually doesn't provide instant kit for ICICI wealth management account.

The branch haven't offered you instant kit ?

They do provide insta kit. I was offered. There is a debit card, cheque book and deposit spils. After 1 week I received the customised name printed kit.

Need to ask Rubyx LTF from them (still on MMT Platinum with 6L limit after 4 years)..

My RM tells me that I am pre-approved for Sapphiro (paid) but does even try to talk with CC team for giving Coral LTF

Spoke to CC and also Branches and pushed for Sapphiro. They said since Sapphiro related Spa etc benefits are removed and only some lounge offers remain, they recommeded I choose Rubyx since it has same points system like Sapphiro and there is no extra benefit for Sapphiro.

Pls provide ur inputs if u find some time.

Inspite of all my grievences with ICICI, the reason I am chasing this card is because ICICI CC gets one thing right. They give the best discounts during BBD. (eg: last year Mi Pad 6 8GB version was availble for just 19K if u had ICICIC CC. U still cant find such a deal)
Every year there is atleast one good deal that makes ICICI CC worthwhile. Also some decent grocery discounts. Otherwise nothing special.

simple, the following icici card from least to best.

platinum
rubyx
sapphiro
emaralde pvc
emarlde metal private

except emaralde private, all cards same reward structure.

get whichever higher card they provide.

You say you're ok with low features, nothing sapphiro than same low features, nothing rubyx.

but anycase in ICICI get only LTF card, not paid.

Yep and good thing about dual variant card (like Sapphiro) is that you can avail such discounts twice
