SBI OLA - Converted Visa to Rupay on renewal

Recently my SBI OLA card is up for renewal & SBI has sent me SMS to choose the card network for renewal card.
It has provided two options Visa & Rupay to select from. I have opted for Rupay & 2 days back the new card has been issued on Rupay platform.

This seems to be nice feature by SBI to offer network selection option before card renewal without any fuss.

SMS in given format "NSEL<last 4 digit of card><Selected Network>" to 5676791 within 10 days of renewal due SMS. (Only VISA & RUPAY network)

Same has been introduced by Yes bank as well recently where I got my RESERV card renewed in Rupay Select from existing Mastercard network.

For SBI network selection option via SMS & for YES Bank it is via online link shared on email/sms.

Any one aware if any UPI benefits on SBI Ola & Yes Reserv cards? 🙂

I spoke with 3 Customer support executives (1 Supervisor). They told me that there is No Offer on my account to change the Network for Ola SBI card and also since it is a Co-branded card, they can't take a request. They will only take request for SBI Core cards Network change.

I explained them about RBI circular, the Network change guidelines are same for Core cards and Co-branded cards but still they denied.

Surprisingly, one executive told me that Ola SBI, FBB SBI and one more card, total 3 Co-branded credit cards are going to be closed and they will send alternative card Simply Save or Simply Click.

Yes ola SBI card yet to be closed told my sales executive , those who having ola card they can see get new card option in benefit section under SBI card app

Today, I got a callback from Customer support Supervisor. He read all the available SBI cards under Rupay network and Ola SBI Rupay card not showing in their system. Also he told me that if it's available, he would have taken a request to change the network. Then I told him, one customer already got the Ola SBI Rupay card via Cusomer consent SMS to choose the network. He raised a complaint and he will check with the backend team.

I guess, Ola SBI Rupay card is not yet updated in customer support systems, so they are unable to take a request for network change and it's only available via Customer consent SMS. @Indian @jk51

Is it that I will be the first one to get hands on Rupay variant of OLA card -- someone award a trophy to me lol 😉 😛

I'm surprised by their T&C
They give 1% even on wallet load, Can you please confirm?
