This has always been the case. Nothing new for all axis rupay cards. Using this feature for 2.5 years now.
But even though it's an old thing, but, it gonna be a broadcasting news now.
Almost all major private banks, and almost all PSU banks via aadhar verification. A better question would be which bank doesn't support yet.
Note: Some banks take more time to link them at backend and may not work immediately, but work after few hours.
AFAIR, both HDFC and ICICI does support...
